Navrooz (Norooz) is the Persian and Central Asian New Year, celebrated on the first day of Spring in Iran and many Central Asian countries. Often, the celebrations last for several days.
I'm not dead! Not yet, anyway. I've been under the weather a lot these past few months. But I think I'm finally on my way to better now. (I hope.) The weather is finally starting to warm up and I'm itching to get outside with my camera again. This is actually a shot from last year around the same time that never got published, but it seemed appropriate for the first day of Spring :)

We took out the spring/summer clothes yesterday, and today Jaymi insisted on wearing capris, to celebrate the first day of spring.
Happy 27th, Son! More than anything we wish we could tell you directly. As you can see, you're not forgotten. This year we need you, your cousin Ellen, your Grandma McGlynn, and your Grandpas to keep cheering us on - we know all of you have been - as we fight forces of evil destroying your beautiful state and country and so much that has been sacred to your family for generations. Love, Dad
Happy First Day of Spring.
My yard doesn't scream Spring just yet, so I found something from my archives a little more in keeping with the season. A sweet little Bluebird perched in front of some azaleas in full bloom.

Thanks for your visit and beautiful comments!!
I want to thank all of you for being such wondeful flickr friends. Your positive support and encouraging comments really lift my spirits and sometimes help me through my days. I take your suggestions and constructive criticism with me on new adventures while taking photos, I've learned SO much from so many of you the last several months, not only by your suggestions but by looking through your photo streams. I've thoroughly enjoyed every moment and look forward to many more!
Happy Friday and I hope everyone has a FANTABULOUS weekend! :-)
March 19, 2020 - Happy First Day of Spring! Here are our potted plants next to our kitchen window. Hope you are all staying well and staying home as much as you can during this Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, and doing all that you can to stay healthy and to help keep everyone healthy. Please continue to be in prayers for all who are sick and families affected by the Coronavirus COVID-19, for all of the medical workers fighting this awful disease, for those working the retail industry to help us meet our daily needs, and for healing for our nation and for the world. God bless you all!
Since today's prompt was FIRST, it only seemed right to take my first BJD out for her first 'real' photoshoot of 2014.
I'm so sorry but I accidently deleted yesterdays photo ! I lost all your wonderful comments faves and awards . I feel so bad ...
I decided the first day of Spring needed some color. At least on my desk calendar at work. Because we're getting more snow tomorrow.

The first day of spring 2014!
*LOOKS MUCH BETTER IN LIGHTBOX!*
Ahhh, finally time for spring - the warm sunshine welcomed me in the woods this afternoon after I finished class. I was just playing around with shooting when I ran into this awesome sky and scene all in one setting...sun/cloud iridescence, and trees with their shadows creating a "K" in the center portion of the shot/foreground...cool stuff, am I right? Lol.
This is a huge panorama, at 300 DPI it is 42 inches tall. It's hard to tell the perspective of a photo and just how large the actual scene is due to it not being 3D, however I love this photo.
Please enjoy and thank you for following my work
