This Ford Escort mk2 estate was my first car. I had it for 3 years between 1988 and 1991 and I only paid £300 for it! This was the good side, the other side was painted in grey primer. I got it cheap because the driver's door was dented. It got repaired but never painted! I commuted to work in this car and it went really well for a 1300. I went to Wales several times and the South coast (where this was taken on the beach at Hastings,) and it did plenty of long trips with no problem. It died of natural causes, the dreaded rust! It ended it's days as a convertible. The scrapyard passed it on to the Fire Service where it was used for crash rescue practice...

This is a two shot HDR image, the red skies in the West were an accurate "Shepherd's Warning", and I wanted to emphasise this.

My wife's first ever flower arrangement, which had a seashore theme. The plants thrive near the sea and the driftwood, shells, sand etc. were collected on local beaches. The 100 year-old pilchard net was a gift from a Cornish fisherman and the arrangement won a third prize in the County Show.
