Italy: Day Three, Part Two ~ St. Peter's Basilica
St. Peter's Basilica is a massive church. It is the largest church in the world and represents the best of the Renaissance architecture, taking over one hundred years to construct between 1506-1626. St. Peter's tomb, one of Jesus's Apostles and the first Pope, is located directly under the high altar. When first walking into the basilica, you literally stop and gasp. The space is so beautiful and reverent that it literally takes your breath away. I must've stood in awe for at least a minute. I got this shot of the main nave and you can see Curtis also getting his shot just in front of me.

Newly minted U.S. Army 2nd Lt. Stephen Smallwood recieves his first salute as an officer from Master Sgt. Jeramie Woodall in Clemson University's Military Heritage Plaza, Dec. 17, 2014. The two served together in 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment when they were both non-commissioned officers. "He's easily the most influential person that I've had in my career. The mentorship and guidance that he's provided has been world class, second to none," Smallwood said when asked why he chose Woodall to render the honor. They both did really well & learnt A & B & the difference between crotchets & quavers. Kate can now read A & B too, Holly not grasped that completely yet.
This was my very first photo-shoot shot with my brand new D7100.
I'd bought the camera just a day ago and I was still getting the hang of it. It's a beast of a camera and makes my old D60 look like a toy.
Still, I'm quite happy with how the photos turned out.
Of course, since the subject was very cute, it made shooting him a piece of cake.
