First Water Cove. Canyon Lake Arizona. The Fountain Grass growing along the shore is an invasive species of grass. It's pretty, but not exactly a good thing. Way to many invasive non native plants in Arizona.

the first to blossom is the Japanese cherry tree across the street

Using the Sony 1.4 TC. Forced at f/9 in lousy light but I had my shutter up hoping it would fly. In any case, I really don't notice any reduction in sharpness or focus speed in using it. That is a good thing using the full-frame A9...

Fortunately, this was the day after we flew back from the east coast, so our flight wasn't delayed. It was a little early for sticking snow here, and was only a couple of inches. Still, it made the yard look wintery. Of course being the coastal northwest, it melted into rain the next day.

Beautiful colored crocuses in garden nearby house,, on the side of the sun.

Also first walk up to Croham Hurst in what seems like ages.

Deadvlei at sunrise... There is something surreal about this white salt clay pan with its black, 500-year-old dead trees. They are preserved camel thorn trees in complete aridity. The contrast of the surrounding red-coloured sand dunes fascinated me enormously. Then there is the magic of the light - it is a play between light and shadow, a natural spectacle of the most beautiful kind.

While I was out in Arizona on a non-train related vacation, I saw a Facebook post about the Grand Canyon Railway releasing an F40PH painted to celebrate the 250th year of the United States of America. As luck would have it, the innaugural run of it would line up perfectly with our drive home. Here it is departing Williams, AZ, heading to the Grand Canyon.

Thanks for looking as always your comments etc are appreciated.

First run of the Santa Fe GP50M's in the new Warbonnet scheme in May of 90.

The nest was about 4-5 m (15 ft) to camera left, and this little goldfinch had just taken it's maiden flight. Mama took awhile to bring it some food, so it sat there and nodded off. Centre Wellington, Ontario. August17, 2022.

This is the first young Warbler that I've seen in the reserve for the winter season. The number of Warblers in the reserve has been way down since the Hurricanes Ian and Nicole. Those Hurricanes occurred during the start of the migration, and I think that they went to a different area in the south. This would have resulted on the babies being imprinted on a different location, and therefore, they would migrate to this new location. This is just speculation on my part, but I think it's reasonable.

These little goslings hatched a week or so ago and go out for there first few of there new home on the Pond.

This is sunrise from Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park (Bar Harbor, Maine). Even if you're not a morning person, the sunrise from Cadillac is worth waking up for. The sun rises over Frenchman Bay and sends a stream of light across the water and the Porcupine Islands. It's really a lovely site to behold.
