See firemen are always going to look cool to women when they get to drive around in one of these aren't they
Yes, there is a gaping hole in that building. Word on the street has it that the old building wanted some excitement in town and parts of it crumbled in a pile of brick rubble on the sidewalk below.
Now let's hope that none of the buildings in YOUR lives want some excitement.
I was fortunate enough to spend a day along side Allen Hancock College Fire Academy Battalion 136 as they trained on the use of hoses.
NOTE: Anyone in the academy, please contact me via my Facebook page to get copies of the photos.

This was the scene at Charlie Brown's Roundabout, off the North Circular A406 on the Essex/London border.
There was a fire in one of the buildings the other side of the roundabout and the whole place was littered with fire engines.
...maybe. Serious enough for them to call the fire brigade, but not serious enough for them to set off the fire alarm. Instead they just wandered round knocking on the classroom doors and asking us to leave. Maybe setting off the fire alarm would have cost too much money on the electric bills or something, knowing SAE!
There was only 45 mins left of class anyway so we just went to the pub!

This is 'Fire Academy', one of the latest attractions at Legoland. The 'ride' itself is actually unique as it pits family teams against each other.
At the start the fire engines that you can see are based at the other end of the attraction. When it's time to go, all teams race down to this end by pumping a lever in the engine (this is a job for the adults). When you reach this end, the adults pump the water pump, and the children have to hit targets on the building. After a certain amount of time an alarm goes off and the team has to get back in the engine and race back to the start. It's quite a tiring workout, believe me!
