Forgive me Lord for I have sinned! Despite my loathing of HTI's totally generic range of 1/64 cars and the way they have taken over or should I say dominated the budget end of the UK market I found myself buying a few of their five vehicle sets in ASDA recently. I've spent years swimming against the tide with these fantasy horrors but now realise they are now a permanent fixture here and worryingly in quite a few countries now too.
I know theres a place for generics especially at the toy end of the market and sometimes if they look believable I will buy them but for me I hate the fact HTI could and should do so much better or at least go back to offering licensed castings too like they did briefly a few years back.
There are some elements of a MAN TGA in the front styling of this Fire Engine Ladder Truck but everything from the front windscreen back is pure generic design. Giving credit where its due this and others in the same series are well finished and do have a robust feel to them.
