Wake County - 2009 Fallen Firefighter Parade and activities, Hillsborough Street, Dawson Street, and Nash Square, Raleigh, NC.
Two of the the official Lego fire sets this year are based on a snorkel design. This inspired me to make my own.
About this creation Yes, I realize that most American fire departments don't use snorkel trucks anymore, but since I was a kid I thought they were awesome and have wanted to make one. The boom is entirely self supporting at many angles. The boom itself features some of the details Lego didn't have on their versions. I included piping running up the boom and oxygen tank on the right side.

2023 recolour of the charming retro inspired Matchbox MBX Fire Dasher which despite its styling is actually purely generic. Ironic then that it now wears the real life livery of the San Luis Obispo Fire Department. A hefty quota of ugly grey plastic which if I find any more will get the Molotow chrome treatment.

Tilley Company of the Blackfriars Road in London, which developed the distinctive type of manual fire engine known as the London Fire Brigade Engine around 1841. The Tilley "side-pumper" engine was a significant progression from the earlier "end-stroke" models, enabling more men to take part in the pumping operations.
