Fire companies were using Hopewell Lake to fill their tankers to fight a nearby barn fire. This hero gave me a sweet smile.

Thank you to the first responders and law enforcement still ready, willing, and able to come to all of us in our time of need 24/7/365 and best wishes to all our country's work force especially the "little guy's" who are all too often taken for granted. God bless them all!
Here's a photo that goes back to a 2010 visit to New York.
Whenever I upload. photo I try and do a little research before I press the "Go" key. Apart from ascertaining that this is a Seagrave product and probably a unit designated a Marauda, I can see that this tender is allocated to the Midtown fire station. Digging a little further I have learnt that fifteen crew from this station were dispatched to the scene of the September 11 2001 atrocity. ALL fifteen firemen failed to return that day as they were caught up in a valiant attempt to save some of those trapped within the twin towers. This is quite staggering.
On this day these two tenders were apparently in no rush to get anywhere as they made their way towards Times Square. It just goes to show that when emergency service crew sign on for a shift they have no way of knowing what lays ahead for them that day.
My Geotag is an approximation.
As I walked home last night at 22:30 there were police cars , fire service and an ambulance blocking the road. Fire had broken out in the laundry room of a hotel a couple of mins. walk from my home. iPhone pic.
