While heading to the zoo, my kids said dad look at the old fire trucks. So I turned around and took some pictures of these sad looking trucks. But if you live in the Tampa area and want to hire a fire truck for an event call the number above.
I've rather taken to the new Boone County flavoured five vehicle set now appearing at Tesco hence why I have picked up a few from Tesco recently. Mainly licensed castings are contained though I doubt anyone would complain at seeing the long running but generic Hazard Squad.
Now fully plastic bodied with metal baseplate but just as realistic and crisply cast as it always has.

If you visit enough Poundland stores you may well find quite a different selection of Matchbox on the pegs. Most have 2023 Case B but you can also find batches from 2021 too in long cards sourced from the Far East. One such branch had Case C in from that year and although most of the good castings had gone I was tempted enough to grab a couple of these Hazard Squad Fire engines.
Generic in design but entirely credible in styling this casting remains popular despite now having its entire body made of plastic.

Fire staff from our Applegate Field Office were happy to hand the keys (key) of a wildland fire engine to the Fort Bidwell Volunteer Fire Department, a partner in wildland fire response. The 4-wheel drive pumper had been in service with the BLM in southern Modoc County since 2001. It was declared surplus when a new engine was purchased, and made available to Fort Bidwell VFD under a BLM rural fire department assistance program.

My first whitemetal build for a while, this is one of the BW Models kits I bought shortly before the company ceased trading, but has recently been reintroduced by Mid Devon Models. It is an early version of the four-wheel drive Reynolds Boughton RB44 using the Ford A-series cab, with Mountain Range bodywork to the same style as those supplied to the Defence Fire Service. The kit is virtually a straight build apart from alterations to the rooftop detail to omit the foam monitor and convert it into a civilian rescue tender.
