"Fire & Ice." Along the Crooked River of Oregon, cool ice remains around the stones as the cliffs above reflect warm light to the water below.

Bubbles in ice. I colored them blue in post processing.

Buachaille Etive Mòr (Scottish Gaelic: Buachaille Eite Mòr, meaning "the great herdsman of Etive"), generally known to climbers simply as The Buachaille, is a mountain at the head of Glen Etive in the Highlands of Scotland. Its pyramidal form, as seen from the A82 road when travelling towards Glen Coe, makes it one of the most recognisable mountains in Scotland, and one of the most depicted on postcards and calendars.

Buachaille Etive Mòr takes the form of a ridge nearly five miles (8 km) in length, almost entirely encircled by the River Etive and its tributaries. The ridge contains four principal tops: from north-east to south-west these are Stob Dearg (1022 m), Stob na Doire (1011 m), Stob Coire Altruim (941 m) and Stob na Bròige (956 m). Stob Dearg and Stob na Bròige are both Munros; the latter was promoted to Munro status by the Scottish Mountaineering Club in 1997

Some say the world will end in fire,

Some say in ice.

From what I've tasted of desire

I hold with those who favor fire.

But if it had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate

To say that for destruction ice

Is also great

And would suffice.

ALWAYS ROSE equals BEAUTY…

“The rose is a rose from the time it is a seed to the time it dies.

Within it, at all times, it contains its whole potential.

It seems to be constantly in the process of change: Yet at each state, at each moment, it is perfectly all right as it is.”

by Paulo Coelho

These are what I trust in this world, never disappointment, unlike some people, too often…

No matter what, it comes from the garden, sometimes blemished, even damaged they ALWAYS can delight me.

A fresh bud, a rose called appropriately: Fire & Ice.

These duo-toned roses are plump and opulent but are only mildly fragrant.

I will persist and bring beauty EVERY day, amongst all the sadness and madness, this will be my answer!

Have a wonderful day, filled with love and thanx for your visit, M, (*_*)

I just wanted to show these girls again before I take Pink Ribbon's hair down. I was going to take down Fire and Ice's as well, but her hair makes her who she is, imo.

Summer is a distant memory... how time flies, another new year upon us, technology evolving at an unbelievable pace, it was never easier to communicate, all is faster, not fast enough, call me, text me, skype me, email me... and yet more and more lonely people, alienation, families dispersed...

We take the week between Christmas and New Year OFF! Free to do only what we want! TIME TO SMELL THE ROSES...

A white bloom and a 'Fire&Ice' bud.

Wishing you well, and thank you, M, (*_*)

It's the middle of December and we had record cold temperatures last night, -20F. I discovered this little heart on our infamous ice window this morning when the sun came up. 100mm macro lens, mildly cropped.

The ice in the Bay looks like it should be breaking up, when it hasn't even froze over yet. As someone said, a wierd Winter indeed………. Have a great Sunday!

"There is nothing more difficult for a truly creative painter than to paint a rose, because before he can do so he has first to forget all the roses that were ever painted."

I think it goes for photographers too?

Yet some discard this and will just copy?

'Fire and Ice Rose' On Black and Recent Photos

Tomorrow we will be on the road again. Thank you everyone for your kind words

and support. It is much easier being on the road knowing that you follow us through our pictures. Thanks again for everything, and may all of your paths lead to a road of happiness.....

Love and light, Deb

I never promised you a Rose garden, lol.

How it came about... I developed many gardens in my life, always multi coloured but also always without Roses, because I thought that they were delicate to grow and maintain.

Now Paul loves Roses, so, I stared tentatively introducing them into our oasis.

I was so wrong, they are going so well and bring so much joy.

BTW, if they suffer from greenfly: plant a garlic bulb near the root of your Rose.

It will often also tell you when you can expect rain, snif in the air! LOL

The little white Rose, Fire and Ice, and of course Just Joey.

Wishing you a colourful day and thank you for commenting, always appreciated, M, (*_*)

"Feuereisblume"

Peculiar growth is by far not taking place rarely in those dimensions. Flowers consisting of fire burning with a million degrees celsius we already know, as well as those made of pure laser light. But this one consists of fire AND glacier ice at the same time – what offers immense advantages, for example if you burn yourself when you try to pluck them.

Two of my favorite girls right now.
