brought in a few of the last Roses from my garden.
I see a few more tentative buds however the weather is so cold and windy that I am not convinced they are ever going to open...
They grow close to each other and here, seem to take advantage of my studio-life to embrace/ hug each other.
Have a wonderful day, filled with love and thank you for your visit, M, (*_*)

The Promise is a visually stunning sim, depicting a demon-conquered dark fantasy world...think Hieronymus Bosch meets Hellboy. It's located at: maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Cool%20Bay/169/140/22
Rannoch Moor (Scottish Gaelic: Mòinteach Raineach/Raithneach) is a large expanse of around 50 square miles (130 km²) of boggy moorland to the west of Loch Rannoch in Scotland, where it extends into Perth and Kinross, Lochaber in Highland, and northern Argyll and Bute. Rannoch Moor is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Special Area of Conservation.[1]
It is notable for its wildlife, particularly famous for the sole British location for the Rannoch-rush, named after the moor. It was frequently visited by Horace Donisthorpe, who collected many unusual species of ants on the moor and surrounding hilly ground. Today it is still one of the few remaining habitats for Formica exsecta, the "narrow-headed ant", although recent surveys have failed to produce any sign of Formica pratensis, which Donisthorpe recorded in the area in the early part of the 20th century.
Peat deposits pose major difficulties to builders of roads and railways. When the West Highland Line was built across Rannoch Moor, its builders had to float the tracks on a mattress of tree roots, brushwood and thousands of tons of earth and ashes.
The A82 road crosses through Rannoch Moor on its way to Glen Coe and Fort William. Additionally, the West Highland Railway line crosses the moor. The railway rises to over 1300 feet and travels over 23 miles of moorland.

Such delight....
A Rose with bud.
A duo-toned Cherry Parfait rose also called 'Fire and Ice', in our garden.
Also the salmon pink Just Joey...
Like most flowers: imperfect…
Still, slowly unfolding and yielding us its beauty and fragrance in the evening...
Thank you for your time and comments, greatly appreciated, M, (*_*)

This is an ice sculpture created as part of the Fire and Ice display at the Riverwoods Mall in Provo, Utah. You don't see a lot of platypus statues around and even fewer made from ice. This one had a light next to it, illuminating it in the dark and it was surrounded by fake coins for some reason.

I know grief...
Old enemies we are...
I lost my grand-parents...
I lost my parents...
I lost my only sister...
I lost a son...
I lost my best friend...
yes... I lost many... too many...
But HOPE?
NEVER...
Beauty helps me through a lot, so here is my gift to you.
Two bi-toned Roses, from my Summer garden, called Fire and Ice.
I love the subtle tones, all the varied tones, that give the flower/petals/stems their texture, depth and form, their delectable shapes accentuated, extracted and emphasised with the colour. Don't you agree?
THANX for ALL your comments and visits, so appreciated, M, (*_*)

In this image the sun was just off to the left of the scene, backlighting the trees with a warm glow. The other part of the sky was blue with a hint of the mist that was still in the air - slowy being burned away by the sun. All I've done is accentuate the blueness a tad.

If ever you think careless is the night,
I’ll comfort you with silence 'til the morning light.
Wherever you turn, wherever you may roam,
Whatever you conquer, I’ll always be your home.
'Cause you’re beautiful, my love, when I close my eyes.
Yeah, you’re beautiful, my love, under heaven’s skies.

Rukapillan rises in silence beneath a calypso-tinted sky, crowned by a lenticular cloud like a celestial guardian — a fleeting moment where earth and sky conspire in quiet awe.

Kellie and I are posing behind a heart ice sculpture at the Fire and Ice celebration at the Riverwoods Mall. This sculpture was illuminated with red light, attracting passing couples. Still cold enough to keep those ice sculptures around a while.

"There is nothing more difficult for a truly creative painter than to paint a rose, because before he can do so he has first to forget all the roses that were ever painted."
quote by Henri Matisse
I think it goes for photographers too?
Yet some discard this and will just copy?
From my garden, a rose called appropriately: Fire & Ice.
These duo-toned roses are plump and opulent, but are non-fragrant.

The ROSES in our garden suddenly at their peak, the buds exploded. The peachy Just Joey Rose next to the white climbing spray-Roses, flanked by the Fire and Ice vibrant flower-heads and topped by the fragrant yellow beauties.
So opulent, swaying gently in the breeze and painted in the dappled sunlight.
A paradise for humans, a haven for bees.
The white ones sometimes come out with a 'blush'... but that disappears, fades as they open and 'mature'.
Here together in the studio for your joy.
Thank you, M, (*_*)

Another Fire and Ice shot. This is one of the guys from whistlers Ski School jumping thru a ring of fire. I used two flashes and poctet wizards to set them off. You can see on the right one of the flash bursts. the other flash was on the left.
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
