Finding a dew-soaked backlit spider web gives a sense of joy and wonder, Beauty is there to find, one just has to look.
from a new series, finding horizons | I am posting all 22 images in chronological order and several may be reposts as this is a work in progress.
I like those moments that force me to slow down, soak in the present, pay attention to details and feel the moment without distractions. It is when I lose myself in those moments that I truly find myself.
These images represented my Thesis is the 2009 BFA Thesis show at the University of Colorado Denver. The body of work, entitiled "Imprint", explores the way memories are sometimes constructed or "false", and are based on photographs one has seen or stories one has heard. They also explore the loss of childhood associated with family illness and turmoil, and explore the way that I have grown in the image of my mother.
Although these images were made digitally, photoshop was NOT used to add imagery that was not present in the actual scene. All projections were actually present in the scene at the time the photograph was taken.

Ryan loves footballs, like most little boys I'm sure. Every time he sees one, he says his second favourite word "Ball" (second to DUCK!).
He spotted on a walk the other day a big white ball up in the sky. He was fascinated by it... It was, of course, the moon!
A flower in the back yard of my old house, taken with a vintage Soviet Helios 44-2 lens attached to my DSLR.
I love basketball. Macromondays theme: "Eye(s)". As usual, SOOC.

It's amazing to see these shorebirds probe and feel with their sensitive beaks, finding little animals and crustaceans that are often hidden deep in the sand and vegetation.
I thought this perspective was interesting, standing on the rock edge and leaning into the water to 'fish' for this tidbit.

In our life there is a single color,
as on an artist's palette,
which provides the meaning of life and art.
It is the color of love.

Hey strangers! Sorry for my absence. Since my last upload, I've been working and just enjoying my holidays. Since Sunday, Mum, Dad and I have been road tripping around Tasmania, which is our little island state. None of us have been here before and we've all been blown away by its beauty. My face has literally been stuck to the car window. I've been posting every day on my instagram, so if you're interested in seeing where I go, make sure you go and follow me over there too.
This was taken on our second night. Earlier in the afternoon we enjoyed an hour's hike to a gorgeous view and then came back to have dinner. We watched the sun set while we waited for our dessert. Mum & I then raced out of the restaurant and made it to this incredibly gorgeous area nearby. Dad later joined us and enjoyed the view. Most of our accommodation is located in National Parks i.e. the bush/beachy areas so it's absolutely perfect.
I've been taking pictures everyday, however can't upload to here as often as I would like. I'm currently sitting in the hotel corridor to pick up the wifi, hehe. Having no internet isn't so bad but I've been sitting on a couple of photos since Monday and all I've wanted to do is upload them to here! Hope you're all doing well. I've scheduled another upload for later on in the week so tune back for that
