Okay, I know this is a lousy photo. What got me was the foot in the air. A moment after I took this shot all the coots in the neighborhood came to watch the commotion. One of the fighters flew away. I can't swear which one it was, so I don't know who won.
The Fallow Deer mating season is starting very slowly.
I think it's due to the warm weather, last weekend it was 24° C average temperature in daytime in the Netherlands.
Nevertheless, I could capture a fight last Saturday.

Waterbomber in action against a forest fire near the walking trails. Quick action prevented a serious situation from becoming much works. Respect....
While waiting for my daughter to get her hair done before heading out into the snow for some portraits, I saw this tall cup sitting on the short wall into our kitchen area, with the cold winter light coming through the door. The tropical trees there on the cup seemed to be a nice omen of warmer weather to come. Moved a little to get the cup in the opening and played around with the composition before snapping the capture.
Warthog fighting.
Fight ended after a few minutes.
Surprisingly the one with the bigger tusks walked away.

Since a lot of time I hold in my hard drive these shots portraying a dispute between two adult male ibexes.
The substantial, insoluble, problem of photographing at this time of the day was that the sun had already dropped behind the Aiguilles Rouges (Mont Blanc area), everything was in shadow, and the light quality is definitely not the best you could hope for. Let's see if I'll be more lucky a next time.
However, I think can be anyway interesting to show what is happening here, especially for those who have never seen firsthand a live fight between ibexes.
I've thought to put 4 photos together to give an idea of the evolution/dynamic, through the various positions.
The resolution of the original file of course is pretty big 10.277 x 6929 pixels.

This woman has a professional quality lens, yet she's using it formlessly. This is particularly dangerous because two bulls are fighting about 200-feet away. This has the yearlings and young bull excited and they're lumbering around the edges of the herd, just on the other side of her car. Many in the herd were grunting a deep, guttural vocalization.
A particularly bad time to be out of your car. Why not shoot out the window, from a little further away.
no, no...nothing so exciting or untoward actually happened : this was not the prelude of hand-to-hand combat, nor of a french kiss, for that matter 😉
the beach was probably too crowded for either, though no one would have cared, except for Mr jealous sunglass-wearer, who might have enjoyed watching a fist fight more than being a third wheel, a terzo incomodo😎
