A little higher up. The FLIR (or whatever the Russians call it) is the little humdinger off to the right of the cockpit.
This is a remade #fighter #jet previously posted I corrected the nose with #Lego and this piece is now 100% I decided to go monotone dark grey. The photo is photo shopped (obviously) and I did it all from my phone. used the #picstitch app in conjunction with an #app called #brushes.
I actually used the same plane and stitched the 2 photos together. This turned out in my opinion excellant., I added retractable landing gear as seen on the above jet, in the up position. I am loving it! Give me your thoughts and opinions! This jet is modeled after a Lego jet I saw on Bearded Jon\'s wall a while back. Thanks for the inspiration! Made my weekend complete!

The 2010 Fort Worth Alliance Air Show. First time to an air show for me and I must say it's a lot of fun. I wish the Blue Angels flew earlier in the day when the light was better. The sun was nearly in our faces which happened to be the direction we were shooting.
Most frames captured with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II and Canon EF 100-500mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens and a few with a Canon EOD 30D and Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM lens

F/A-18 Hornet flying very low over Saline Valley, with the Inyo Mountains in the background (Death Valley National Park).
US Airforce uses this remote and rugged desert and mountain area as a training ground, presumably because they are similar to the terrain in Afganistan and Iraq.
Almost every day, F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets fly very low and very fast (close to the speed of sound) over Saline Valley.
For more information about the F/A 18, read en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonnell_Douglas_F/A-18_Hornet

TOP GUN!
So in the spirit of taking a new photo every week (instead of using previously taken photos) for these challenges I had to get a little creative with this one.
I actually have photos of jets taking off the flight deck on a carrier but I decided to go out and buy a toy jet. So to get this shot, I shot in the dark, on my driveway, wet it down with hot water to get the steam and lit up with a flashlight. Pretty stoked on the results!

Like most pictures of aviation museums, a panorama was necessary to get the whole airplane into a frame. But oh well, here is the MiG-29.
