Powering into the air and ripping a hole through the sky and my ears. I love the colours of the burners on those RB199 engines: the red core and the blue fringes on the edges. Note the double slotted Fowler flaps, an unusual item to find on a fighterjet. The Tornado has no ailerons, instead is uses wing spoilers and differentially actuated slab stabilizers (sometimes called tailerons). Day 8,437,266 of the lockdown, and I'm scratching around for things to photograph. With all the hairdressers closed, I make Cousin It look like Harry Hill! Normal service (Studio portraits and landscapes) will be resumed one day.... one day...

I'm not usually into fighters, however this was unusual enough for me to include it here.

I was pottering on the laptop in my hotel room quite early in the morning when I heard a very loud noise at Palma Airport, loud enough to rattle my windows.

I grabbed my camera and rushed out onto the balcony, By which time this was already a fast receding dot in the distance, so it was a 'shot to nothing'.

Apparently it was a fuel stop at Palma on it's way home to Poland after appearing at the Motril Air Show, Granada, Spain.
