+ I've travelled several locations in the Philippines for 3 weeks. Hectic but fun at the same time - one of the plus sides are that this countty has probably one of the most gorgeous faces I've seen - with varying degrees of poverty and wealth and that's already hard to fathom at one glance.

My son is a fighter; at 4 months of age he presented Infantile Spasms, partial complex seizures and reflux. He was born with a right eye ptosis and we had no idea what could be his disease. We had many help to pursue a diagnosis, and we finally had it: mitochondrial disease, more specifically Complex II deficiency of the Respiratory Chain. He is currently on ketogenic diet, still looking for his seizure control. Every day is a new day, and we will keep looking for a better quality of life to him surrounded by much love.
This is why sorting never gets done. I was stacking all my Dk bley 3 high slopes in an attempt to sort, and they started looking like a cool SNOT starfighter. Well, the yellow bin was right there, and how could I resist? ;) The rubber bands are intended to make it look like a thrown-together space pirate-y craft.

Odd angle on Meteor jet at the Muckleburgh Collection, Norfolk.
Funny how the original jet still featured 'straight-out' wings rather than the swept wings we know see all the time. While a successful aircraft which flew for many years, apparently it was hard to fly, requiring careful control. There was no real OCU training program and the step from propellor-driven planes was enormous; pilots weren't prepared for the huge increase in power. Add that to its Whirlwind-like airframe and you have a simple missile-with-wings, which in inexperienced hands, is going to be a handful. However, a trained pilot could use its widely spaced engines to good effect, and it has been used for aerobatic performance.
Meteors first flew at the tail-end of WW2, and were still making occasional flights as radio-controlled target drones at RAE Llanbedr until fairly recently (2004?). A couple of aircraft are reported as operational for the Martin Baker ejection seat company. I wonder if this might make it the longest serving jet aircraft ever?
