Odd angle on Meteor jet at the Muckleburgh Collection, Norfolk.
Funny how the original jet still featured 'straight-out' wings rather than the swept wings we know see all the time. While a successful aircraft which flew for many years, apparently it was hard to fly, requiring careful control. There was no real OCU training program and the step from propellor-driven planes was enormous; pilots weren't prepared for the huge increase in power. Add that to its Whirlwind-like airframe and you have a simple missile-with-wings, which in inexperienced hands, is going to be a handful. However, a trained pilot could use its widely spaced engines to good effect, and it has been used for aerobatic performance.
Meteors first flew at the tail-end of WW2, and were still making occasional flights as radio-controlled target drones at RAE Llanbedr until fairly recently (2004?). A couple of aircraft are reported as operational for the Martin Baker ejection seat company. I wonder if this might make it the longest serving jet aircraft ever?
FSA fighters participated in the Civil Syria campaign. To this hero Civil Syria means "Pride."

The L.A.-based rockers played a rip-roaring 2 hour and 40 minute set, featuring 27 songs for the highlight of this year's iTunes Festival, held at London's Roundhouse.
Louie is always flying his fighter jets. I was practicing with my strobist techniques and he seemed like he might be getting bored so I suggested he go and get his fighter jets. This dynamic pose was the result.

This is a "between the wars" aircraft - the fighters flying in the 20's and 30's were mostly still biplanes but also incorporated some advances, like metal construction and more powerful engines. I don't remember what this plane is but it was a fighter for the US Navy.

When rumors circulated that the Terran Union was in the market for a new medium space superiority fighter, Turner Industries leapt into action, completing, with their own funds, a fully working prototype before bidding even began.Needless to say, Turner Industries won the contract handily, as they had already footed the design costs, thereby allowing them to undercut their competitors.
The Perseus is a medium space superiority fighter of middling speed and maneuverability-a strange design decision, to say the least. To compensate for its relatively low speed (for its role), Turner Industries outfitted it with nearly unparalleled firepower and protection for a fighter of its size-it features two heavy hardpoints (usually only found on bombers) that normally mount 30 mm gatling cannons. In addition, this is the first space-faring vessel lighter than a corvette to feature a shield system.
The Perseus is generally quite successful in dogfighting situations, and can be made to be successful in anti-frigate maneuvers by mounting heavier cannons or ship-to-ship torpedoes in place of the gatling cannons.
