- This is one of a series of eight photos in my possession taken at the same time and place, likely at Chaumont Airbase, France. These photos show evidence of they were taken in 1952, shortly after when the US Air Force activated (federalized) multiple stateside Air Guard units and relocated them to Europe. The helmets of some of the pilots (such as this photo here) carry the squadron insignia of the 125th FBS, 137th FBW before its official redesignation as the 492nd FBS, 48th FBW.

- Records indicate this jet was assigned to the 492nd FBS.

- I have no indication of who the pilot is in this photo. If anyone recognizes him, please contact me.
