I did change up what I think they were doing on the inside to add some strength.

Air to air action over Yamatain territory!

Earlier today, an unidentified squadron of aircraft strongly resembling the Horten/Gotha Go. 329 flying wing fighter-bombers were detected entering Yamatia airspace. Due to their unique shape, it is rumored that our radar did not detect the aircraft as quickly as they should have. As luck would have it, Rinku (legendary hero of Yamatai and a personal favorite of her royal highness) was in the area testing out a new jet fighter known as the "Epona" along with an escort squadron. Informed of the intruders, he and his wing mates engaged the mystery aircraft in an intense dogfight, ending with him and his squadron victorious over the interlopers.

While the enemy may have had more advanced aircraft, Rinku's skill and legendary courage carried the day, earning him yet another medal. How the mysterious forces got their hands on so many advanced Neustrasian aircraft is still unknown, but it believed that they may have been acting on account of an as of yet undiscovered faction. Citizens of Yamatai can rest assured that these villains will be brought to justice, glory to her Highness and the Trinity!

So, still toying with HDR. I guess this came out OK. It's kind of hard to judge what's 'good' with this HDR process. Some things look OK, but some things still look... off.

Anyway, Space Stig explains some of the virutes of the new fighter to Vance Quantum. Tentatively named Quantum VI, the new fighter should look right at home at Quantum Manor.

The 23d Fighter Group was formed soon after the US entered WWII, it was in part made up of former Flying Tiger personnel. In honor of the Flying Tigers, 23d FG aircraft are allowed to paint the famed shark mouths on the nose. The tail code 'FT' is also an homage to the Flying Tigers.

The Manticore is my third SHIP. At 180 studs, it is significantly larger than my first two ships. I built the Manticore over an agonizingly long 10 1/2 months.

The Manticore is a heavily-armed orbital death machine with enough firepower to destroy nearly anything produced by humankind. It's main armament is one of the most powerful energy weapons ever produced, colloquially known as the Destructo Beam. The ship also carries two smaller but deadly laser turrets on the roof, a number of smaller turrets, and two fighters.
