1974 East window designed by Roger Fifield in memory of J C Marriott churchwarden 1957-1969 - This replaced a window destroyed by a blast from an angry farmer's shotgun. There is some controversy concerning the possible cause of his anger. - Church of St Peter Stoke Bliss Herefordshire

Painted several just in case the recasting process didn't work. A few more images of the Fifield Monster head sculpt attached to it's body frame - Prometheus - 1:18 scale. Head sculpt has been recast with Smooth-On's Crystal Clear 300 to recreate the membrane surrounding the mutated cranium. Body sculpt a work in progress but it gives you an idea of the figures articulation once complete. The figure will have elongated arms and legs to match that of the CGI version. ‪#‎prometheus‬ ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎mutation‬ ‪#‎cgi‬ ‪#‎fifield‬ ‪#‎fifieldmonster‬ ‪#‎sculpture‬ ‪#‎articulation‬ ‪#‎actionfigure‬ ‪#‎smoothon‬ ‪#‎crystalclear300‬ ‪#‎casting‬

I always enjoy creating alternate head sculpts for the figures I'm building...sometimes several! LOL! Just completed this one for Amanda Ripley - Alien: Isolation - 1:18 scale. Several times in the game Amanda was frightened especially during the first encounter with the Alien (poor Axel). Thought it would be appropriate to create a sculpt that reflected that. :) I hate the idea of "neutral" expressions when the alien is in the room...so disrespectful! HA HA! #alien #alienisolation #sevastopol #amandaripley #keziaburrows #sega #nostromo #sculpting

This photograph was in an unmarked album of 150 photos. Only five photographs were dated—three copies of the same image of Janice Dawe in a sled from 3 April 1920 (she would have been two weeks shy of one year old,) one from Bear Brook New Hampshire dated March 1922, and the last from Northwood New Hampshire on 22 May 1922. Excepting the 1920 picture, the images all appear to be from around 1922 and are centered on the Stuart Guy Fifield family.

Water availability and quality is at risk globally—two-thirds of the population will experience water shortages by 2025, creating health, economic, and environmental risks, as well as exacerbating poverty. It is estimated that water use has risen at more than twice the rate of population growth over the last century, and a lack of access to safe water already impacts 750 million people around the world. In this session, participants will identify ways, as populations and industries continue to grow, that the private sector can reduce its water use and assess its role in water stewardship through core business practices. Participants will also explore how organizations can improve quality and access to water.

Objectives:

• Address water scarcity at different scales—including interventions at the regional, watershed, corporate, and community levels

• Identify opportunities for increased coordination among various stakeholders, including conservationists, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) advocates, and private sector industry leaders

• Workshop Commitments to Action in development related to the Water Scarcity Call to Action

St Mary's dominates the village of Newton Regis and serves the most northerly parish in Warwickshire.

The building itself is aisleless but with a later clerestorey and quite light inside, being mainly plain glazed except for the odd medieval fragment here and there and two recent windows by Warwickshire based artist Roger Fifield.

The outstanding medieval feature here however is on the north side of the sanctuary, a highly unusual 14th century priest's tomb in a recess with a slab in high relief portraying a praying bust of the deceased amidst canopywork (inhabited by angels) with two kneeling mourners below, a unique composition as far as I know, worn but still enjoyable.

Postcard from Naomi Austin [Fifield] to Mrs. W. W. Austin [Alma Austin.] ..“Dear Grandma, This is a game between the officers and my own children. I am pitching. This is a beautiful day. I wish I could spend it with you. Love, Naomi.”..At a later date, Naomi Fifield added the note, “Sleighton Farm, Darling Pa.”..Sleighton Farm School for Girls was a school for “troubled girls” located in Glen Mills Pennsylvania. Naomi would have been 23 when this postcard was posted and, presumably, the nurse or a counselor..

A small village set high above the Evenlode valley on the border of Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire. Recorded in Domesday as Fyfhide or five hides (600 acres), the manor was held by Henrici de Ferriers a Norman knight.

The church is 13th century in origin and has an unusual 14th century octagonal west tower. The south porch is also of interest as it has a roof of stone slabs carried on a single arch, it is believed to date from Early English period, the13th century. The south-west chancel window has two heraldic shields, one is of the Zouche family and dates from the 13th century.

A follow-up on the progress to the Warrior Alien head sculpt. ALIENS 86 - 1:18 scale. Some smart phone shots showing the sculpt from several angles - still a work in progress. Should have it complete tonight.

The torso you see here will be a total re-sculpt....presently it's a casting from the Revoltech figure. Helps with scaling/proportion. The lower abdomen piece however is a cast of an original sculpt from my 79 Alien. I can get away with using it for the Warrior but the upper torso will be a complete, original re-sculpt as I hate borrowing parts when I have the ability to create them myself these days....

If you have the ability and time, sculpt it.

I still have to borrow articulated joints and extremities such as hands from time to time...especially with the human figures, but when I can sculpt it myself I will do so...

...and with the Warrior alien finally moving forward, others are sure to follow...Ripley, Marines, Newt, Burke, Bishop.....Queen(cough,cough)....

Paint and membrane cast progress on the Fifield Monster head sculpt - CGIVersion - Prometheus 1:18 scale. The membrane, cast using smooth-on crystal clear 300 hasn't fully cured yet so additional images will be taken once it hardens and I can add additional paint work to it. It was tricky but I think the initial pull came out good smile emoticon More to come! ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎prometheus‬ ‪#‎fifield‬ ‪#‎fifieldmonster‬ ‪#‎smoothon‬ ‪#‎crystalclear‬ ‪#‎painting‬

North nave window at Burton Hastings, installed in 2001 and designed by local artist Roger Fifield.

Fifiled's work makes a very attractive contemporary adition to this ancient building, and is beautifully painted and stylised, echoing his earliest work from the 1960s, without looking backwards.

The subject appears to be a celebration of village life, with various landmark buildings and elements of the village featured without any obvious religious theme (beyond the small dove in the tracery light above).

This formula for stained glass seems to be popular with certain congregations, who prefer to commemorate 'down-to-earth' subjects of mainly local, secular relevance, than convey a spiritual message. The artist is then given a 'shopping list' of relevant features to include in the design at all cost!

At the yard in Park Falls. 22 to be exact, with most of them being pulpwood loads from Fifield.
