Stopped off at Chesterton for a sunset on the way back from the Peak District last weekend. Even though we left early I think we had the best of the light that evening.
I have a cabin about a hour away from my home (I have a youtube channel that covers it here, youtube.com/buffcleb ). Frequently I go down for just the day. This gives me the chance to catch good light first thing in the morning.
This time of year the farms on the way there are busy working their fields processing hay. Today I passed a field filled with round hay bales waiting to be loaded by a tractor working not far away. On the ride home they were gone.
This photo was processed in lightroom then the HDR was done in Photomatix Pro 5. I did a little work in photoshop cc then back to lightroom for the colorizing and vignetting.

“Real travel requires a maximum of unscheduled wandering, for there is no other way of discovering surprises and marvels, which, as I see it, is the only good reason for not staying at home.” ~Alan W. Watts

Driving through rural Victoria, Australia, I came across these fields of bright yellow rapeseed blooms and the colors were so vivid that I had to stop and take a moment.
All of my photos on Flickr are limited in size to protect my images from being stolen and used elsewhere. If you're interested in purchasing a high resolution print from me, please message me and I would be happy to accommodate the request. I will have a website in 2015 that you can order directly from. Thank you.
Shot a couple of years ago in a field very local to my house, this was taken on my Sony RX100 which I don't use nearly as often as I should do!
As ever, the best camera is the one you have on you and it does make a very compact handy alternative for when you don't have anything bigger on you but equally need the optical zoom that most phone cameras don't give you.

I'm really in love with this outfit. I went to visit Persophne for some tattoos and her store is stunning!! Had to take a picture while there!
The amazing volcanic landscape of the Big Island's interior, seen from the Saddle Road (Hawaii Route 200) near its highest point at the Humuula Saddle between Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa.

I was up visiting my mom and family up around King, NC this past weekend and got the chance to get out Saturday evening for a few full moon shots. A family friend has a place up near the Sauratown mountain range with a fantastic front yard viewpoint and they didn't mind if I spent some time out there shooting. I did try experimenting with a new flashlight for some lightpainting, but the full moon provided more than enough light. I'll save the lightpainting for a new moon from here in the future. I basically just did some dodging/burning to accentuate this path that lead off down the field. Some may notice the 25 sec exposure at 27mm with little to no stars trailing....yes, I did take a slightly shorter exposure and blend it in....It's the same sky though...
