Session in Dumigan's - part of Loughstock III, Portaferry, February 2005

The Fiddle Crawl is a public art initiative presented by Mount Airy Downtown Inc. It is modeled after other successful fundraisers in North Carolina Main Street Communities and features larger-than-life, three dimensional, fiberglass fiddle sculptures painted, decorated, and embellished by local artists.

The streets in downtown Mount Airy will have a new addition on May 3, with the premier of the Fiddle Crawl with the colorful fiberglass fiddle sculptures painted by local artists installed along the sidewalks, where they will be in place through October. A free Fiddle Crawl Reveal took place on May 2 at 5 p.m. at the Historic Earle Theatre in downtown Mount Airy — a sneak-peek at the fiddles before they are installed in their locations throughout the downtown area.

The Fiddle Crawl Reveal featured the 12 artists who created the unique works of art for the community, and the reveal of their fiddle sculptures. Mountain Park Old-Time Band provided music for the event.

Hmm - I've either got my hand down my jeans which means that I'm watching Japanese zombie schoolgirls OR I could be fondling the playstation...

Lies had a wonderful session with the Kennedy Girls that I could not decide which one to post. Hence posting most of them.

Enjoy.

Note:

The Kennedy Girls are Mouse's first litter. Their mom is Lotje - sister to Tinkerbell and daughter to Luna. They are named after Kennedy "Staff Members" because they were born on the day their Gotfather Kennedy - our ginger neuter - died. We hope that they will be able to keep his memory alive.

A nice touch is that they all have a red streak in their fur as if a hint of Kennedy has been passed on to them.

Music is always seen as a universal language and so it is with this fiddle player at the Saturday morning Santa Barbara Farmers' Market. A group of photographers gathered at the market to take part in the 2009 Worldwide PhotoWalk. The farmers market in Santa Barbara, CA was selected as one of thousands of sites for this year's 'Photo Walk' event.

A popular site in Portknockie is Bow Fiddle Rock, a large rock about 50 feet high just off the coast. The quartzite rock has a large sea arch, which somewhat resembles the bow of a fiddle.
