I nearly drove off the road yesterday when I discovered that Schnookie had bought the traditional Maple Hoo autumn decotation -- pie pumpkins for the fence posts in the garden. EEEEEEEE!!!! It's really Fall now!

Wire cutting through Wood

The fence may have long gone but the last fence post remains standing.

a nice stock fencepost & barbed wire shot. it surrounds the field containing the alien message (see other photos herein).

Taken at the beach near Crissy Field, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco.

not much to see when walking in the fog!

I just really liked this old, moss-encrusted fencepost. It shows the steady consistent movement of nature in reclaiming it's own space.

Colony Farm Regional Park

walking down the trail to the pt cabrillo lighthouse.

I've been away over Easter, spending time down the South Coast with family etc. On my insistence, I dragged everyone around to a wrecked lighthouse and a forgotten graveyard with grass almost knee-high. This little place bordered the graveyard. Many of the tombstones, half-fallen and coated in lichen were for young children, another for a man who was 'accidentally drowned'. There were hollow spots of subsidence that you had to watch out for - graves that had long ago been insufficiently filled and have since sunk with the years.

It was quite eerie, really. :)

Sing me to sleep

Sing me to sleep

Im tired and I

I want to go to bed

Sing me to sleep

Sing me to sleep

And then leave me alone

Dont try to wake me in the morning

cause I will be gone

Dont feel bad for me

I want you to know

Deep in the cell of my heart

I will feel so glad to go

Sing me to sleep

Sing me to sleep

I dont want to wake up

On my own anymore

Sing to me

Sing to me

I dont want to wake up

On my own anymore

Dont feel bad for me

I want you to know

Deep in the cell of my heart

I really want to go

There is another world

There is a better world

Well, there must be

Well, there must be

Well, there must be

Well, there must be

Well ...

Bye bye

Bye bye

Bye ...

Fencepost, Banks Penninsula

Taken up in the mountains near my grandparents' house. Edited for color and contrast.

I came across this little guy perched perfectly still on a fence. He didn't move the entire time I was there. I hope he wasn't dead.

Once bounding a pasture chopped out from ancient pines now engulfed as new pines grow up around it.

I was playing around with these candy canes and actually found a face in the post. I love this when it happens.
