I took a bike ride along my usual exercise route after the windstorm and fires whipped through Upcountry Maui, and this is some of what I saw.
A snow-encrusted fencepost leans on a bitterly cold day in Broomfield, Colorado.
In some ways I prefer the bleakness of this photo, in some ways I prefer the warmth of the low sun on a cold day in the color version below.
a close up of the end of a wooden fence post, (cropped from 'post1705'). with the original image i left the colours, whereas here i've jacked them up a touch. the flatter grey tones of 'post1705' worked with the idea of it being framed by the background, here the colours help to emphasise the lines, angles, shadows and overall detail in the image.
These actually aren't reflectors. They're a new addition to WVWC's state-of-the-art security system. They shoot lasers. Indiscrimenately. And apparently, randomly.
Keeps you on your toes.
the triangle assignment this week was more challenging than I had originally thought it would be. I found myself carrying my macro filter with me everywhere, and was stumped by a triangle. I love cwd, it forces us all to be a little more creative.
