A weathered post of the garden fence; lovely textures

Thanks to Frans for id. On a threatened site in Strathspey, Scotland

An old photo that I hadn't uploaded, but did so for comparison with the other fencepost.

Actually the Sutter Buttes, but I am fascinated with the old pop top on the fencepost. Fomapan 100, Canonet rangefinder. 3/3/12.

Fencepost photo from our rock hunting trip with a texture I made myself!

Out for a winter stroll in their matching toques.

I was really taken by the fantastic array of lichen and graffitti on this old post, together with good lighting on an otherwise gray, drab day. I took several shots from below to get the height and give a clear background - but I really should have tried other angles too, since this just looks boring. Ah well.

I took a bike ride along my usual exercise route after the windstorm and fires whipped through Upcountry Maui, and this is some of what I saw.

My repaired Canon 10-22 lens arrived back today - yippee! And only two weeks rather than the six weeks I expected.

Daddy left his hat to rest on a post in the barn. Little did he realize that a 6-year-old boy with a piece of chalk was on the loose. Now, we have a Daddy totem pole, complete with gotee.

Patterns that caught my eye. Fence post in the woods where I walk during lunch every day.

A snow-encrusted fencepost leans on a bitterly cold day in Broomfield, Colorado.

In some ways I prefer the bleakness of this photo, in some ways I prefer the warmth of the low sun on a cold day in the color version below.
