House Sparrow
Latin: Passer domesticus
Didn't have time to take off the ND filter that was on the lens, which is why the wings are blurry, but I quite like the effect.
Heimdal in Trondheim, Norway.
When I arrived at Brighton Beach this morning there was a host of Silver Gulls, including many juveniles, feasting on food brought in on the sea weed and sea foam. There was a great deal of noise and the not infrequent stand-off. A lone Crested Tern cruised over the site at one point to see what was on offer, but didn't seem particularly interested.
Taking some shots of the frost on our flowers this morning and this one reminded me of the flower from Little Shop of Horrors.
The bluebird chicks in our yard fledged last week, thanks to the tireless efforts of their mom and dad. We've also had to add weekly mealworm purchases to our grocery list.

A busy female Hooded Oriole feeding two hungry growing chicks, on a warm California spring morning in May, on the banks of the Russian River, in the heart of Sonoma Valley's wine country.
Collared Kingfisher feeding. The chicks are in the hole nest in the tree. The parents find food and keep feeding the chicks whole day.
Tree swallow mom continues the feeding process outside the nest.
Both parents do a sort of fly by feeding, never landing, always searching for more food for the young.

Two guys feeding the gulls during the blue hour at Waryas Park on the Hudson River ~ Poughkeepsie, NY
Poppa returns to feed one of his two young Silvereye fledglings who are eagerly awaiting breakfast; Jerrabomberra Wetlands, ACT.
Blacky feeding his youngster while the other two were in the bath. Maybe his final set of youngsters this year. This was their third nest they have successfully reared three.
After first set of fledglings were killed by a Neighbours cat they then nested next door and successfully reared two from the second nest before this third set
I was blessed to have the Tornado-Princess (2 1/2 yrs old) with me Saturday afternoon through late Sunday morning. Anita came over (there's two of kind if there ever was!) and we took her to a local petting zoo that also boasts a playground. I took somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 photos and am not allowed to share them (per the Mom) on the internet. But I think this one would be OK and really I thought it was so sweet. She is feeding the goats one little grain of feed at a time. I think the goat is smiling and so was I ! The two Tornadoes wore me out going from swings to slides to animals and back again! Fun times.
Our nearest neighbour has put some food out for the birds and yesterday afternoon I saw this Robin feeding. It had been sitting on our garden table, but I wasn't quick enough.
I sadly made a complete pig's ear of the photo, on the wrong setting as I hadn't checked my camera before I took the shot.
I've done a repair job with PhotoScape. Still not great, but it was so lovely to see.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)
