Glossy Ibis chick begging for food from its parent

I discovered that the medaka rice fish like aphids, marvellous! I have many lol. These youngsters have been outside for a few weeks now and are growing. They stay small, about an inch & a half when fully grown.
I love them, very cute and relaxing to watch. The cats & dogs pay little attention to them, maybe the odd drink.
We've currently got a family of Magpie-Lark "Grallina cyanoleuca" (aka Peewee) nesting in a tree at home.
I have been hoping to capture the mother feeding the newborn chicks and was successful this morning - looks like it was a bee!!
Hope you like this!
Windy conditions and a healthy covering of foliage made the task of getting a clear shot difficult.
Happy Easter folks!!!
Thanks for any comments, views or favorites - always appreciated!
Sand Martins.
The parent flying in sparked this response from the chicks, but I cropped in close as the bird was blurred. The "rolling" stone never moved.
Many thanks to all who comment, fave or just enjoy looking, very much appreciated folks!
A few minutes upstream from Rhinefield Ornamental Drive, New Forest. I managed to cross waterlogged grassland to capture the horse framed by the river’s edge and leaning tree trunks.
This is an image of a horned lark that we were able to see while in Newfoundland. Thanks to Glenn Bartley for pointing the nest out to us. We were able to get a glimpse of her feeding her babies. They nest in the grasses on the ground and are very difficult to spot unless you happen to see her fly in. One of the most beautiful things about this species is their courtship. They male will ascend as high as 800 feet , he then circles, closes his wings and will drop head first almost to the ground. Seconds before he opens his wings and, lands and struts around with horns held high and wings drooping. This is his way of attracting his female who is a life long partner ! Love the wonderful things we learn about nature and what a privilege to witness.
Have a beautiful and blessed day !!
This view shows the chuck wagon, feed lot, stallion barn and other sheds on the Grant Khors Ranch in Deer Lodge Montana. These out buildings are part of the Grant-Khors National Historic Site which is part of the National Park System..
At another spot at brockadale, the flowers where more open and came across this one having a feed. Not that many where feeding, more interested in chasing each other around.
As I was leaving Bodega Bay I saw quite a commotion going on at Lucas Wharf, apparently there was a run of fish going through the area and a 'feeding frenzy' was taking place. There were Pelican's, Cormorants and Terns diving...a group of Great Egrets were fighting over feeding rights and there was a winner!
PS...I was contacted yesterday by a Wildlife Rescue group and asked to use the picture for the news media...help is on the way...yea!!
I want to thank everyone for their input, concern and suggestions...it made me work a little harder..thanks!
This was taken after the little chicks had left the nest and were seeking refuge in the fire flag. went to check on them yesterday but did not see any chicks although the mother was flying into one of the nearby bushes with fun. I have a feeling that only one has survived. It certainly is not easy for these little guys to make it.
I have two left in the series to post and then I will not be posting again until around the middle of July.
Wishing everyone a wonderful and blessed summer and many thanks for your continued support.

Wrynecks are in the woodpecker family, albeit an unusual member of that family. Their favourite food is ants and they have a very long tongue that they can poke into ants' nests. They also produce copious amounts of sticky saliva to facilitate ant collection on their tongue. Like the Green Woodpecker they feed mainly on the ground but they do find insects in dead standing wood like normal woodpeckers. I managed to capture this Wryneck feeding and if you zoom in you can see its tongue extended and being poked down an ant hole. Though this is only partially extended, and it can protrude much further than this. Sorry about the obscuring grasses but they happened to be in the way when my feeding photo-opportunity arose.
One difference between Wrynecks and "normal" woodpeckers is that they use pre-existing holes and crevices for nesting, so they don't excavate their own nest holes. They usually nest in trees, but may nest in buildings, rock crevices and even Sand Martin nests in sand banks. They do have typical zygodactylous woodpecker feet though, with two toes forward and two pointing back, which shows really well here if you zoom in. I have heard them calling on many occasions in Europe and it is a repeated whiny keee-keee-keee-keee. Perhaps most similar to Lesser Spotted Woodpecker though in my view they also sound very similar to Hobby.
This feeding Wryneck was taken at Spurn in East Yorkshire, presumably having just crossed the North Sea from Scandinavia en route to its African wintering grounds.

This little guy may be the youngest. I saw the family again the next day in this same location, where he (identified by the small patch of white down on his back side) continued to be the most dependent on his parents.... I'll add shots from July 27 soon....
