Todays word in February Photo A Day was heart. I saw this beautiful heart shaped pizza at Pasticcio's this evening when we went out to celebrate Valentines Day.
A tiny jam jar of fine, amber sand scooped up from the top of a sand dune in the Erg Chebbi sand dunes near Merzouga, Morocco, in May 2008.
I love the delicate swishing sound the sand makes when I shake the jar, and I especially love turning the jar over slowly and watching all the perfect grains of sand tumble over each other (my tactile memory of just how soft that sand was when sifted through the fingers is still very strong). The colour of the grains is exquisite.
This jar of Saharan sand sits on one side of my bed. On the other side is an identical jam jar filled with the grainier, sugar-like beige sand of the White Desert near Farafra, Egypt.
My office phones feature in my photo today.
1. Blackberry 2. Cisco IP Phone 3. iPhone
I've blurred out my land line number for obvious reasons. Our office has video phones by default with blackberry on the go. You can also see my iPhone in my hand
Each week I call Dad and Rich to catch-up on what’s happened during the previous week. It started as a way to rebuild our relationship. Over time it’s become a part of my weekly schedule.
I just discovered this group, so am posting my first four days. I am really having fun with FebPhotoADay. Great idea!

Feb 10 (Fri) - This was taken for the photo challenge "febphotoaday" and the theme is self-portrait. This was taken in the morning bus. And by the way, THANK GOD IT"S FRIDAY! What a week.....
047 - "Something New" For the first time in a while our team was let out early. Still a couple more weeks to go, but this was a welcome surprise.
I wore this jacket today. I needed to dress up yoga gear to attend a school open-house. I'm shopping elementary schools for my 3 year old.
Sunshine (lots of it). A warm rock beside the sea (to doze upon after a hectic day). The rhythmic crash of the waves (nature's finest soundtrack).
Fiona Horne says it best:
"I rejoice in what is and what is not,
what is given and what is taken away;
as the tides of life ebb and flow,
I drift peaceful in the knowledge
that all things are as they should be."
