Everything in life is speaking in spite of its apparent silence. ~Hazrat Inayat Khan
Feb Photo a Day theme "Green"
If I could tell the world just one thing
It would be that we're all OK
And not to worry 'cause worry is wasteful
And useless in times like these
I won't be made useless
I won't be idle with despair
I will gather myself around my faith
For light does the darkness most fear.
~Jewel
No one will ever see things from my eyes. I have a unique view...just like everyone else.
Marie decided to grace my photo with her presence. I like that. Our animals are pretty awesome.
Using a chart of themes for the month of February. Shouldn't be hard, considering most of Feb will be shot in Seattle. Wahoo!
Hello and nice evening to all!
First a big thank you to all those who trust me and therefore my side remained even though I was now three months away :)
Yesterday I had the day one of the few nice days this year, the chance of a wild European mantis to photography.
This was done at a authorized enjoy outdoor palm of our summer usually :)
I hope you like and also you give this red-flagged stationary insect the honor he deserves :)
Finally some news that will hopefully rejoice. my break was planned long and so I thought indeed a second more important project run on (my second little miracle :))
but hereby I'm back again and always at your service :)

I hate cleaning up messes, or even being around/making them. An unfortunate truth, because life is a messy thing.
Everything is blooming most recklessly; if it were voices instead of colors, there would be an unbelievable shrieking into the heart of the night. ~Rainer Maria Rilke
This morning I purchased two books from the Op shop to use for packaging for my store. I opened one and this was written inside. I wonder who Jack and Madeline are? This book will remain as it is and live on my shelf. It has survived since 1943, so will continue to live on with me, on my shelf. If only this book could talk and tell me it's story. (the novel is called Burnt Sugar by F M Baume)
This is a new photo, not part of the similar series. Today's photo theme was "makes you happy." Nothing makes me more happy than a hot bath on a snowy winter day.
after that nice day this picture was an perfect end :) i love it so hope you guys love it to :) like it or not but look at it for just 3 seconds in fullscreen to see ho beauty nature can be :) nice ev, and good night :)
I got this greenish-gray wool hat from a second hand store in Pike Place Market. This well-made hat fits perfectly and has a silk lining, worn in places but still beautiful. I love old things. Often times I prefer old to new. There's a nostalgic feeling to some second hand items, a glimpse of who owned it or where it's been. Fun stuff!

This is #25 in a February photo-a-day project that includes a random challenge each day. Today's challenge... "green."
My Dad's nickname for me as a kid was "Mr. Blue." But, my eyes are actually green. My Dad was color blind. It may also be true that my eyes where blue when I was a baby.
Yesterday was good, but long, and very busy. This was the scene about dinner time...no food and dog tired.

I stumbled upon the 100 Strangers project 3 years ago, and the concept intrigued me. Since then, I just browsed through photos every now and again, but never got past my laziness and fear to start my own until now. I may end up spending the next 20 years completing this, but who cares? It’s not a race to the finish or anything.
Following dinner with my family, my father-in-law had to make a quick restroom stop before the drive back home. I figured we might as well go to a favorite spot of mine where I grab beer. I took a few minutes to browse the beer selection, and found a couple bottles to purchase. Brenna was stationed near the front of the store distributing beer allocations and memberships to patrons who had purchased them online. Brenna was tall, had fiery red hair, and some ink work done on her left arm. I thought maybe it would be cool to take a photo of her, but the store was buzzing with activity on account of all the customers. One of the cashiers was busy in the back, so Brenna ended up checking out my purchase.
After checking my id card, she asked how to pronounce my last name. I thought it was pretty cool because most of the time, people butcher its pronunciation. Brenna shared some sympathy, having had her own first name mucked up by people over years. She packed up my bottles and I was ready to leave, but my FIL still hadn’t gotten back from the restroom (The store was packed that night, and I saw a tiny line towards the back), so I wandered about to wait for him. I saw that one of my favorite bottles of beer wasn’t out on the floor, so I asked Brenna if they had anymore. She did a quick search, and found there were only 6 cases left of it. I also asked how long she had been working at the Bruery, and found that she had recently started working again, after having been injured dancing ballet.
It was then that I figured to ask if she would let me snap a portrait of her for the 100strangers project. She smiled and said yes; She seemed interested in the whole concept. Then I told her what it was about and offered to email her some info about it. We moved over to the side of the store where all the chilled beer bottles were, and I snapped some shots. Thanks for participating and letting me shoot your portrait, Brenna!
For great beer, visit the cool people over at the Bruery Provisions and take home a bottle or two. This is the first photo from my 100 Strangers set. To learn more about the 100 Stranger project visit www.flickr.com/groups/100strangers/
