Tellus Science Museum occupies more than 125,000 square feet and features galleries devoted to minerals, fossils, transportation technology, and hands-on science experiences.

The 120-seat digital Planetarium hosts a variety of astronomy programs, stargazing events, and family activities and 45-minute shows are shown throughout each day. The Weinman Mineral Gallery showcases one of the largest, most comprehensive collections in the Southeast, with more than 4,000 rocks, gems and minerals on display.

Tellus is a Latin word meaning "Earth" and may refer to Tellus Mater or Terra Mater, the ancient Roman earth mother goddess, and is also an alternative name for the planet Earth, often used in the science fiction genre (e.g. the books of E. E. Smith).

Tellus is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution. The museum is open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM closing only on major holidays.

The Fossil Gallery features Stan, a 40-foot Tyrannosaurus rex along with other dinosaurs and fossils, allowing visitors to trace the history of life on Earth.

Collins Family My Big Back Yard offers hands-on science exhibits introducing concepts from the physical and life sciences through backyard science experiences.

Science of Motion allows visitors to re-live major developments in science and technology related to automobiles, aircraft, and space travel. In addition, Tellus includes a 200-seat presentation theater, a large multi-purpose room for events, four well-equipped science labs, an observatory, a full service cafe, and a gift shop that is almost equal in size to the Weinman’s original exhibit space.

Tellus Science Museum opened January 12, 2009, and has welcomed more than one million visitors.

Tellus was founded as the Weinman Mineral Museum in 1983, which closed in 2007 and reopened as Tellus Science Museum in 2009. The museum retains the original mineral displays in the Weinman Mineral Gallery.

This image features a wilting rose focused within a unfocused background. This gives the feeling that its an important rose even though it's wilting, the grey sky gives off the emotion of depression that a death has occurred and the rose is symbolising this or a failed relationship has occurred. Placing the rose in the bottom left corner deviants from the norm where the subject in in centre so you spot it straight away, but i wanted all my subjects off into the corner so you see more of the world behind it, even if it isn't in focus.

Photographic techniques capture electromagnetic wavelengths beyond human vision, revealing features invisible to the naked eye. These signals are processed into interpretable forms using methods like color mapping.

Pink lacks a specific electromagnetic wavelength, while grey poses a limitation due to its representation of only intensity—a blend of light and dark without spectral specificity. Imaging techniques reliant on spectral variation produce identical results for greyscale images unless non-visible data is present. Deviations from this uniformity may indicate errors, misinterpretations, or unknown phenomena.

Contention persists over analytical debates, including dismissible claims like Van Allen belt dangers and contested evidence of lunar mirrors. The precision of laser reflections targeting a moving 3x3-foot marker on the Moon highlights technical skill but often fails to resolve skepticism. For instance, a 0.1° shift moves a laser spot 670 km across the Moon's surface.

Forensic analysis (2022, 2023) of Apollo 11–17 photographs assessed authenticity claims. Images of humans in space, Earth, and the Moon's distant views were validated, but Moon landing visuals showed variations, suggesting diverse techniques may have replicated certain elements.

PEMi (Photoelectromagnetic Image) software enhances forensic analysis by differentiating natural and artificial light sources, revealing hidden features. Each PEMi-ID links to original sources, ensuring traceability and comparison.

4me4you Features 'TALES OF TALES'.

ARTIST: EME OMEH

In a recent visit to the Hope Gallery, 4me4you had the opportunity to explore the compelling exhibition "TALES OF TALES" by EME OMEH, a distinguished fine artist from Nsukka, Nigeria. Omeh's work is deeply rooted in a tradition of storytelling, blending rich visual narratives with personal and cultural mythologies. Through his multifaceted canvases, he weaves a tapestry of memories, parables, and allegories, reflecting both his childhood in Nigeria and his present experiences in Atlanta.

Omeh is a visual raconteur whose art bridges the gap between past and present, creating an emotional resonance that transcends time and geography. His paintings are more than just images; they are windows into his life and his psyche, layered with meaning and symbolism. Central to his work are themes of memory, transformation, and the influence of family, particularly through the lens of childhood. Growing up as the youngest in a large family in Nigeria, Omeh struggled to be noticed, a feeling that later evolved into an understanding of how essential human connection and attention are. This personal journey of overcoming challenges is mirrored in his art, where he uses painting as his primary mode of communication, having struggled with traditional forms of expression like reading and writing.

His work often features bold colours and the recurring presence of children, tapping into universal themes of growth, learning, and self-discovery. School and education, with their associated symbols—like black-and-white tiled floors and mathematical equations—frequently appear in his pieces, serving as a reflection of his own experiences and, more broadly, the process of overcoming perceived shortcomings. The motif of an open door or window is also central in his work, symbolising the influx of new knowledge, personal revision, and change. This motif is not just a literal element but a metaphor for familial wisdom, passed down through generations, and the transformative power of inherited teachings, fables, and parables.

Artistic Technique and Philosophy:

Omeh’s canvases are visually intricate, built up with layers of paint, ink, gesso, and oil, creating dynamic textures that evoke the passage of time. These layers represent the accumulation of memories, both cherished and lost, and the complexity of individual and collective histories. The use of stencils and silhouettes in his work imbues the pieces with a sense of timelessness, at times appearing antiquated with their tea-stained hues, and at other moments feeling strikingly contemporary, especially in his recent works featuring bold neons. This layering process alludes to the artist’s commitment to truth over beauty—an exploration of what is dark, valuable, and often forgotten across generations. His art, in its complexity, invites a subjective interpretation, offering viewers the space to form their own connections with the narrative threads woven throughout.

Omeh’s work has been showcased in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Georgia, Miami, and New York, but "TALES OF TALES" marks his first presentation in Europe, an exciting milestone in the artist’s evolving journey. Through this exhibition, Omeh continues to share his layered storytelling and cultural reflections with a broader international audience, inviting all who encounter his work to engage with the deeper truths that lie beneath the surface.
