This photo is nothing special but it brings back so many memories for me that I have included it in this set. This chapel is located at the church camp my family spent time at nearly every summer during the sixties. As a kid, there was always something fun to do here. We would spend our time swimming, playing ping-pong in the recreation hall, softball behind the chapel and even meal time could be quite interesting. Watermelon feasts, sunset sings, and canoe rides were other favorite activities. Ironically, spending time in chapel was one of my least favorite activities.
My sister was nearly born at this camp. Apparently, my mother who was carrying her, went into labor weeks early and she and my father took a police escorted, white knuckle ride to the nearest hospital to deliver her. My brother and I woke up the next morning to discover that our parents had abandoned (left in the company of others, of course!) us at the camp. We spent the day being cared for by the camp nurse. I was not quite five years old at the time and have only vague memories of this event. What I do remember is being confused as to why the parents had to leave us.

Here's this week's showcase: goodbyebyesunday.
Fung is a very creative and brilliant photographer! Her concepts are well thought out, and her compositions are always interesting! I love her photography very much, especially her still life work, which she doesn't do very much of... haha, *ahem* ;)
Moreover, I am madly in love with her ability to use light and shadow to achieve those beautiful shots I enjoy so much. Thanks for the awesome sharing!
Please check out her stream~ wonderful work is here, there and everywhere! :D

Photograph taken in the magic of the Golden Hour around Sunrise at 03:24am on Wednesday 29th May 2013 off Lullingstone Lane and Eagle Heights overlooking a blanket of morning mist as it rolled across Eynsford Viaduct in the village of Eynsford, Kent, England.
This impressive nine-arched red-brick viaduct is a prominent feature on the line to the 'Bat & Ball' station. The structure was built by the independent ''Sevenoaks Railway'', incorporated in 1859 to link the ''Chatham'' main line with the market town of Sevenoaks. And first services began on 2nd June 1862. The viaduct has nine arches of 30-foot span, and rises to a height of 75-feet above the valley and the River Darent.

This contest featured the PVHS (Pleasant Valley High School) Vikings hosting the Paradise Bobcats. Paradise had a terrible time scoring, and at one point near the end of the second quarter the Vikings had rolled to a 21-4 lead. At halftime PVHS led 30-7. The Vikings continued their dominance in the second half and came away with a 51-24 victory. I hope that the basketball season doesn’t include any more mismatches like this one!
All shots were taken with Nikon D750 + 24-120 f/4. Exposure was 1/640 and f/4 at ISO 6,400.

STORYTIME!! What does a certain famous actor have to do with my Photoshop practice? Well, let me tell ya! // Rewind to the early 2000’s when I was in high school, OBSESSED with the TV show “Friends.” Ross was my favorite character and I had a ginormous crush on David Schwimmer. GINORMOUS. My friends even decorated my locker in all things David for my birthday. 😳 // I started a fansite for David, which over almost 3 years grew to getting over 200 visits a day. Pretty damn good for my little fan site! At one point we even held a contest to give away tickets to go see him in a play in London, thanks to a collab with their PR department who had reached out to me. The person who won ended up getting his autograph! Basically, this website was my pride and joy and I was able to do some amazing things with it! // One of my ABSOLUTE favorite things to do for the website was design the layout, and design it I did into the wee hours of the night. I think this is why I still love Photoshopping late to this day. My layouts were pretty damn spiffy! 🌛Man, I wish I still had them! // So that’s how I started on this Photoshop adventure of mine, developing the muscle memory for all those shortcuts and functions. So glad I get to combine it all with painting now! // And here’s the kicker. When I announced I was shutting down the site to move onto other things post-Friends, I got an email from the man himself, David Schwimmer! He had created a hotmail account specifically for the purpose of contacting me, and thanked me for the work I had done. Apparently he had known about the site for a while and had been impressed with the content I’d been able to find! My teenage mind was blown. Still is, to be honest! For a really long time I thought someone was pranking me. If someone knows David Schwimmer, please pass this on! I’d love to confirm if it really was him once and for all. 😆 // Aaand that’s my story! Crazy, right? #aplayfulprocess

Featuring: Hydeia Broadbent
Hydeia Broadbent is a distinguished international motivational speaker and HIV/AIDS activist with a mission to educate people of all ages
At birth, Hydeia Broadbent was abandoned at the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas where Patricia and Loren Broadbent adopted her as an infant. Although her HIV condition was congenital, she was not diagnosed as HIV-positive with advancement to AIDS until age three. The prognosis was that she would not live past the age of five. Now more than 20 years later, Broadbent spends her time spreading the message of HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention by promoting abstinence, safe-sex practices (for people who choose to have sex), and the initiative "Knowing Your HIV/AIDS Status."
Broadbent began her debut as an HIV/AIDS activist and public speaker at six years old. Since then, she has appeared on many national television programs including Katie, Oprah, 20/20, Good Morning America, Weekly with Ed Gordon, and A Conversation with Magic Johnson on Nickelodeon. She has been featured in prominent publications, including The New York Times, Teen People, Essence, YM, Ebony, Health Quest, Sister to Sister, POZ, National Geographic, Real Health, Seventeen, and Heart & Soul. She also graced the cover of TV Guide. Broadbent has also taken part in many of America's talk radio programs including "The Michael Eric Dyson Show," "Russ Parr Morning Show," and "The Tom Joyner Morning Show."

Was very industrious yesterday and again today, installed a new water feature in the front garden and Erika Metzner liked it so much I installed another unit today under the patio, not happy with it's position there just yet, will play with it a bit over the next few days, the front unit comes up very well in particular at night time when it is lit up.
Todays shoot was suppose to feature my best friend val. She lives in carson city nv and i hardly ever get to see her. She was driving down from christmas break a day early to hang out go to dinner and take some portraits. she ended up getting stuck in the snow with the roads closed down. As im writing this she is sleeping in her car as she was unable to book a hotel room :( Melissa stepped up and invited me to dinner with her boyfriend and cousin so without a picture of the day i had an idea for a parking garage shoot. I wanted it to have a very dark cold feel. It was hard to battle the very yellow flood lights but i was able to over power them with my strobes. I hope val is ok i wish i could trade places with her :(
strobist: sb-800 on the right of the camera with shoot though umbrella. sb-600 on the left of the camera with bounce back umbrella. triggered with nikon cls in ttl mode. CLS was giving me alot of problems tonight for some reason. It might be time to look into other strobe triggering.
