I took more than 100 photos of feathers today--most of them with my super-duper Canon and a 100mm macro lens. But the photo I like best I took with my iPhoneX.

Go figure.

@tim🍎I am available for product endorsements. LOL!! 😂

Happy SOS

I picked up a small downy feather from under one of our bird feeders and placed it on the surface of the lake at the end of our dock, where I photographed it floating in association with numerous duckweeds, with the stems and leaves of rooted aquatic vegetation visible just below the surface. The feather is about a half-inch in total length.

Found a large scattering of feathers beneath a tall hemlock tree today. Looks like an owl or small hawk had a meal.

The Macro Mondays theme for this week is "Feather". Feathers in photo on a fishing jig.

He/she looked a bit dishevelled but I think it was just the wind ruffling the feathers as this little sparrow sat on the fence.

Just loved what the tone map brought out.

From my collection

The back feathers of a male peacock after a mating dance in court of Castelo de S. Jorge in Lisbon, Portugal.

This bird was doing a dance for over 10 minutes until it gave up seeking the attention of the female.

I have no idea which type of bird this is from. It is from the stuffing in a cushion! HMM!!

A single feather in black and white.

Shot with the EF-M 18-150mm @141mm and a 21mm extension tube. Lighting by a single Godox TT685C, trigger by a Godox XPro.

Unfortunately, I now have to gift wrap the XPro again, because it actually is my Christmas present
