This cheeky bird followed me for about 200 m through the forest. They hope for insects stirred up by your walking and this one was swooping all around me for several minutes.

Hope your Easter goes well. My wife has hot cross buns in the making!

I'm in love with the world. And the mud, wind and rain won't stop it.

Defined by no man, you are your own story,

blazing through the world

turning history into herstory.

And when they dare to tell you about all

the things you cannot be, you smile and tell them,

I am both war and woman and you

cannot stop me"

Happy New Years eve friends! Whether or not 2022 will be a great year for you depends on whether you will live fearlessly. This is THE only way to live.

This arrogant looking brown thrasher hopped over my toes while heading to his regular perch close to the suet feeder.

I bought this flute in the eighties on a trip to New York City. I've played it in bands, orchestras, flute choirs, kirtans, and now in an improv group. Improvising makes me fearless.

I am grateful for my flute.

I really wanted to use this pic of her.

Beware; for I am fearless, and therefore powerful.

Mono version of D400 at Crewe with the first leg of The North West Wanderer to Carlisle, 10th August 2024

Paddle-boarders out of the lake during the snow blizzard.

Location: Kommetjie.

Description: I thought that it might make a refreshing change to start off the new year with a photograph that is not square nor a Vertorama.

When Andre and I recently spent the day shooting at different locations around the Cape Peninsula, we ended up on the rocks in front on the Slangkop lighthouse near Kommetjie. We still had a few minutes before sunset, so we both wandered around the rock-pools looking for interesting angles and compositions.

The tide was low, but it was rising and every now and then a slightly larger than normal wave would break, sending me scampering for higher ground. Not Andre though... whenever he noticed such a wave approaching, he would merely make sure that he had a firm footing... and take it head-on! :)

On the outward trip of the Inter-City 'North Western Wanderer' railtour, a morning shower arrived in time for its passing through Acton Bridge. Led by Locomotive Services Limited Class 50 loco 50050 'Fearless', the tour heads north toward Carlisle, where Class 45 loco 45118 at the rear would take over.
