FAULTY TOWERS: THE DINING EXPERIENCE

Wednesday 29 July, 7.30pm, SOLD OUT

The Swan, The Square, Dobcross, Saddleworth, OL3 5AA

Waited upon by Basil, Sybil & Manuel, this is fully immersive, highly improvised and site-specific comedy theatre at its best. Only a third of the show scripted, so anything can happen as you take a seat in the 'Fawlty Towers' restaurant… Expect all the best gags, shambolic service & a ‘70s style 3-course meal in ‘top end entertainment that’s not to be missed’ (What’s on London). Just don’t mention the war! Internationally acclaimed by audiences & critics alike. This globetrotting show is truly quite legendary, selling out at venues like the Royal Albert Hall & Sydney Opera House. It continues to tour the world in 2015.

When it comes to the application of this phony Tuscany plaster, our contractor, Ron did a fabulous job. Such a good job that it has taken the chief inspector (wife) over 4 years to find a flaw.

WIT: 500 watt halogen shop light set up so it was parallel to the wall and highlighted the texture.

The neck pick was faulty straight out of the factory doors.... Not great for a real Fender. Either way, it was re-wound with 42AWG wire and voiced like the original! Works so nicely with the bridge pickup

Einfach mal abhängen, das muss auch mal sein...

My Sony HX90 keeps on going despite being rather battered. Occasionally it does this.

Meanwhile, to the right of the shot, Daughter #2 walks on.

The streets are very quiet under Coronavirus COVID-19 conditions.

hey apple, wtf? this is the second charger that explodes. the first one was in san francisco.

what is wrong with your product?

anyone else have this problem? i'd be inclined to think so.

if so, would you mind telling me what you did about it? did apple replace the faulty charger?

i've got a spare charger, so i'm covered for now...

but the sparks from the burning battery charger almost set a rug on fire, which could have been catastrophic had i not been in the same room.

i mean, that rug tied the whole room together, man.

how can apple get away with this kind of product defect?

Built in 15 years ago when we got the new unit which has NEVER worked!!!

That's the NHS for you.

My EOS 100 shutter curtains were having problems, moving slowly, or not moving at all sometimes. Got them fixed from $30.

For Christmas Justin & Mollye made Angela and I (Mike) homemade t-shirts, and they bought Amanda a 'Napoleon Dynamite' box set that came with a "flippin sweet" t-shirt inside.

Needless to say - the shirts rocked. So we took a bunch of dorky pics to share.

The heel cloth and stitching - is slightly higher on one converse compared to the other causing me to have a sore upper heel from the material rubbing it as I walk.

My faithful D70 is going back to Nikon for repairs. Bought in March 2004 and last night I suddenly got the Blinking Green LED Of Death.

I'm not too distressed right now - it was time for a good clean...

Updates!

- Letter from Nikon on the 24/05/06: Approximate repair completion date: 14-June-2006.

- Camera returned in early June, before the quoted date, but with muck on the mirror and a small scratch on the viewfinder grid. Not best pleased.

This is about as far along the Ballard cliffs as you can get without gills. Here, the beds suddenly dive down into the earth at a very strange angle. Just one of a number of faults that are visible across the Purbeck.

We went looking for fossils and found several Sea Urchins that will, after a hours of work, look like the one we found a little while ago.

See where this picture was taken. [?]

Three out of the five ticket machines at Brighton were out of order so there were long queues at the ticket office and the two machines that were still working.

These machines have been no good ever since they were introduced. The old machines required only two button presses to get your ticket, these need about a dozen as the software can send you round in loops.

Apart from the camera's faulty digital sensor, causing some vertical lines to waver, this 2-photo stitched panorama gives a very life-like representation of the quiet part of the new day with warm ground and cool damp air creating some ground fog. The lens points east to the rising light and just a few cars are on the road at his point where the city center high street, the Zenkouji-dori, crosses one of the main routes north and south along the valley, National Route 8. The large vegetable garden that is behind the roadside shrine (Ojizo-san; bodhisattva) protecting children of the neighborhood and travelers of this road is bigger than many in the city precincts. But then, again, 2 or 3 generations ago much of this ground was still cultivating wet-field (paddy) rice; relatively few shops and houses filled the space west of Route 8. So maybe this particular vegetable patch is a remnant of those days of lower population and more agriculture, compared to the livelihoods among rural Japan's residents today.

Today's image is one of Finnerty Garden's gates. The gates are supposed to remain closed as the garden compound is completely fenced to keep rabbits and deer out so they cannot eat all the flowers and vegetation.

After reading in the weekend Times-Colonist about the engineering students pushing a Volkwagen around the University of Victoria's sports' track for several hours, one wonders if their time wouldn't be better spent designing a functioning, gate-closing mechanism so these gates are not left ajar most of the time.

The past week has seen massive support from the entire JNU community for the movement against the JNU administration's efforts to scuttle reservations and social justice in JNU. FDIR thanks the student community for the solidarity with the ongoing struggle for proper implementation of reservations in JNU, and for the large participation in the public meetings, hunger strikes, protest demonstrations and dharnas called in the past few days. We also congratu-late alf the Hunger Strikers and their massive response in the Mass Relay Hunger strke on the last day. Students and teachers alike have expressed their anger against the blatant manner in which constitutional provisions for ensuring social inclusion in institutions of higher education are being violated with impunity in JNU. .

, .

As a result of the sustained pressure built up over time, JNU's Academic Council decided yesterday to reject the proposals of the Aditya Mukherjee Committee regarding the cut-off criteria for OBC students seeking admission in JNU. After a long debate, the AC decided that instead of continuing to follow this illegal and illogical criteria which is denying admission to several eligible OBC students, JNU should consider following the model of the Central JJniver-sity of Hyderabad which is correctly interpreting the MHRD guidelines and Supreme Court directives to fu'lfill the .

'.

OBC quota. A committee consisting of the Deans of all schools will look into the matter as soon as possible and take a final decision so that the correct criterion is made operative from the coming admissions this year itself. I .

Regarding the implementation of SC/ST reservations in faculty positions, the strong Ptes.e.n.'"e__a.R"C("arguments of several teachers in favour of reservations prevented the AC from endorsing the JNU administration's anti-reservation designs. The AC however did not come to a final decision, since it was adjourned. The next AC will take a final decision .

on this issue. .

Following the AC meeting, FDIR called off the indefinite hunger strike in the presence of several faculty members who congratulated the student community for their sustained struggle and their role in making the blatant subversion of social justice a major issue in the entire JNU community. .

While we have achieved a major victory in pushing back the Aditya Mukherjee Committee's casteist and illegal formula, the battle is however far from over. The fact that the Aditya Mukherjee committee recommendations will NOT be applied in the coming academic session is a victory for the basic point that the student community has repeat-.

edly made over the past two years. Howevec in the days to come, we have to continue the struggle and the mobiliza-tion to ensure that the Deans' committee constituted to take a final decision upholds the basic concern regarding the criminal denial of admission to OBC students due to a faulty, illegal and illogical cut-off criteria. .

The issue of the faulty cut-off criteria is not a ne·w one. JNUSU and the student community had pointed thi,s out to the administration way back in 2008. However, despite opposition from JNUSU, Prof. Aditya Mukherjee (who is known to have strong anti-reservation views) was made the Chairperson of the committee specificaJiy set up to look into the cut-off criteria. This committee repeatedly ratified the JNU administration's faulty and legally untenable position/t:,he entire JNU community has to be vigilant to ensure that the Issue of social justice is not scuttled once more by pe~pie who misuse their responsible posts in the administration to scuttle constitutionaily mandated provisions according to their personal whims and fancies. The decision at the Deans' Committee must be taken with ':Jtmost concern for logic, for the law, and most i,m.portantly, keeping in mind the supre,me concern for social justice. The indivldufl jdeolo1ical.

persuasions of the committee members cannot be allowed to scuttle social iustlce as has been happening so tar. .

While we thank the student community for their support for our efforts over the past month to build a move-.
