Worked from home today, per my usual Friday schedule. However, due to a faulty toilet and impending Federal Express delivery, I did not get to go to lunch with my lovely wife.
The plumber showed up on time. The reason you don't see my lower legs in this photo is not due to cropping--instead of an arm and a leg, I gave the plumber both legs, knee down. I like my arms! ;) But the toilet is fixed, and I eventually cleaned up the mess (don't worry, it hadn't overflowed--all the mess was in the toilet. Was that TMI? Whatever...).
As a nice end to the day, the new TV came right after work ended. Yay! Immediate electronics tinkering! It's an LCD. Those things are much lighter than I thought! I had it on its stand and on top of the dresser in the bedroom while my wife was baking a cake! She was like, "you did that all by yourself!?". Yup. grr. argh. :)
So here I am, going through all the menus, and setting up the MONDAY-FRIDAY timer to turn it on! The old TV, I had to remember to turn off the timer on Friday nights, and back on on Sunday nights. NO MORE! I can now proceed in peaceful obliviousness to timer setup. As long as the electricity doesn't go out for too long... Hmm, maybe I need a UPS for the TV...

Taken at the Faulty Towers interactive dining experience, Basil was excellent but he didn't quite have the insane, manic energy of John Cleese, then who could follow that act?

This is what is concealed by the interior rear panel of the freezer compartment in a refrigerator-freezer. The coils are related to the defrosting process. The defroster heating element, normally connected to the blue and red wires, was being replaced by an appliance repairman (not a repairperson).
The repairman was at our house to fix the freezer, which has accumulated a thick layer of frost on the back panel of the freezer compartment. The frost would not melt. It took the guy about five minutes to determine the source of the problem---a broken defrost heating element. Installation of a new element cost us about $220. Then the freezer was as good as new. The only consolation for spending that much money was the realization that buying a new refrigerator-freezer would have cost about seven times that amount.
Terribly shallow depth of field!
