T.C. loves this time of year when the dark nights draw in and the temperature drops outside which means only one thing to him... laying himself beside the fire and falling fast asleep....
One of the many Pigeons that inhabit my small town/village. Anyone who has tried to capture these guys in flight., will know.... they're very fast and agile!! :/ LOL I got lucky.

One of my all time favorites was a shot about two years back of a clear Christmas ornament a lot like this, also water filled.
I was using a borrowed pellet rifle that probably had a pellet velocity of abot 500fps.
So I was just curious what things would look like with a faster rifle and faster pellet. This is a plastic sabot type thing with a metal tip. The plastic part separates upon impact and releases the metal tip.
You can see the orange/red "shadow of the plastic just under the flash reflection.
The faster pellet leaves a sharper angle on the wake.
Surprise.

I spent a little time today looking at our bank account. I sadly realized last month alone our family spent 486.62 on pizza and burgers, that averages out to over 100.00 a week in GROSS FAST FOOD. Not even good for us, it wastes our money that can be saved or better yet put towards healthy foods. I'm embarrassed by how much money we gave the fast food industry last month, I'm embarrassed that we actually eat like this and we wonder why we never have any money or why we are a little overweight?? HELLO! I think we CAN make a few better choices this year, let's start with today. Today I will make better choices because I CAN.
Following its capture by the northern English magnates in the mid-14th century, Fast Castle was to remain in English hands for 60 years, even though the Second War of Scottish Independence had ended with the Treaty of Berwick in 1357. In 1410 a small force of one hundred men, led by Patrick Dunbar of Biel, 2nd son of the 9th Earl of March, finaly seized it back - presumably 'by employing a stragem' rather than a trebuchet! The English governor, Thomas Holden, was imprisoned and its new Scots governor William Haliburton was also able to seize Wark Castle, Northumberland, in 1419.
(Patrick Dunbar was evidently no mere bog-trotting mosstrooper. As well as being the son of an earl, he married a granddaughter of King Robert II, which indicates that he was held in high regard.)
The garden birds are eating at a tremendous rate at the moment, especially the Starlings who are raising their young.
This young Starling was perched right at the top of the pinnacle on the feeders and sat there for a good five minutes as the adult birds made raids on the coconut feeders gathering clumps of the fatty stuff and as you can see the young make very short work of it.
