Inspired by the children's book, Fancy Nancy, I channeled the kikay in me and designed this cake for Ria's beautiful (not-so) baby girl, Rocio, who was celebrating her 6th birthday. I am now wondering why the same design appeals so much to me --- despite the fact that i am more than five times her age. Maybe God is telling me something :s

Puerto de la Aldea : a lovely landscape featuring a lady swimming across. I think it was rather cold as she said something like : Frio, frio ...

A fancy old house along the busy highway in Grundy, Virginia, cowering in the shadow of the bombed-out hills. This is the heart of Appalachia, deep in the middle of coal country. There are several points around here where I wish I'd stopped to get a good picture, but my camera was acting a little sketchy, and by this time we were getting kind of itchy to get moving, so I can't have the big coal discussion I've been wanting to have. One of these days, we'll go to the mountains for the specific purpose of photographing coal.

After this, I think I've got maybe three more days of pictures from this trip. Maybe two, if I condense a little.
