Stuck inside yesterday by the weather I decided to photograph a few of my Fancy Guppies.
I started this community in a 20 gal aquarium about this time last year with just 2 or three pairs and now have many many with more being born regularly.
Patterns and coloration change a bit with every generation. Unlike professional breeders I do not try to develop patters and colors through selective breeding. I do however enjoy noting the changes in coloration and patterns with each generation.
I just love this shop's, funky retro, window display! So beautifully eye-catching and wonderfully creative!
It's one of my favourite stores in Melbourne, with the most amazing range of accessories for men and women!

So, my hubby didn't get me a doll for Christmas, but he DID get me a DSLR camera! It's a Samsung NX30 and I am just beginning to play with it, little by little. Need to read the manual and all that :)
Went to the Wings of Fancy butterfly show today in Wheaton, MD. Never seen so many different butterflies in one location before.

DOT Art and the Garment District Alliance presented “Fancy Animal Carnival” a series of seven sculptures installed within the pedestrian plazas along Broadway between 36th Street and 41st Street in Manhattan by Taiwanese artist Hung Yi. The life sized pieces represent distorted animal forms painted with brightly colored surreal, narrative-like designs pulled from different cultural backgrounds. Hung Yi is known for his three dimensional animated paintings on baked enamel surfaces. The enamel coating disguises the welded steel plates that serve as the interior structure of the animals. He has exhibited his large scale works internationally, most recently in San Francisco, but “Fancy Animal Carnival” marks his first exhibition in New York City. InSian Gallery and the Emmanuel Fremin Gallery partnered with the Alliance to assist in the transportation of the sculptures from Taiwan to the United States. The Garment District Alliance has been a partner of the DOT Art Program for the past six years.
