Even the harvestmen are more exotic in Costa Rica! I like the pattern on this one, and, though it's hard to make out here, you can just see a pair of spines on its back just to the front of the curving line that connects its "hips".

I couldn't help but think of that line as well as the entire song while watching this scene unfold before me. Actually, hot chocolate was being served but I highly doubt any cigars were being smoked. Steam Railroading Institute's North Pole Express, led by the Pere Marquette 1225 approaches the North Pole (Ashley, Michigan) loaded with kids of all ages eager to see Santa.
The Pere Marquette 1225 served as the model for the steam engine in the movie "Polar Express".

This is the fence in my backyard. I thought it was interesting how it was bluish grey and brown all at the same time. It's very cloudy here today, but nice and warm. Going to be in the mid-60's this afternoon. But a big change is on the way for us. Winter arrives tomorrow!
Fanciest makeup I've done in a long long time. Also maybe finally getting the hang of using a round brush at the same time as a blow dryer. Maybe. Change of command party tonight. I hope the toddler tantrums don't slay my friend who is babysitting for me.
This is Fancy Nancy who is currently staying with one of the friends who journeyed with us to see Bacon's Castle. She's a saucy, sassy and wild child for sure! Here you see her bossy side as she attempts to override the GPS system. Up to any adventure and into and out of trouble, she has Anita beat by a country mile! She will Only eat hotdogs, is unwilling to listen to sound advice (hence a sunburn a few weeks back) and for sure she will make you laugh! Who can resist this sparkly, green eyed, freckle faced red haired imp?
