You may have heard the old adage that Guinness is good for you. That may be so, but it is not good for the environment. An epic recycling fail here. The idiots concerned somehow remembered the basic rule of crushing the cans, then they forgot the most important part - don't toss the f*cking cans out of your car window 😡 Littering makes my blood boil. I carried these home & put them in our own recycling bin.

On Wednesday, 11th October 2023, CP 1427 failed while working the IR862, the 07:08 Pocinho to Porto-Campanhã. The Régua based 'thunderbird' 1436 was sent eastbound to rescue the stranded train. In this view taken at Covelinhas, 1436 was leading the delayed service.

This a failed experiment. After looking it, it reminded me one of those optical illusion/how many squares things you see on Facebook.
Not many car people will fail to recognize the T Bucket's famous shape: open engine, open cockpit, upright windshield, and a stubby deck out back – all of which have been part of the formula since day one. The original Model T's of course, were produced from 1909 to 1927 and served as the platform for old school, early day hot rodding. Typically, they have a raked appearance that looks like excessive speed has pushed back every component on the frame along with staggered tires, lots of chrome, and an open bucket that is a feast for the eyes.
Up for consignment at $32,000, a 1923 Ford T Bucket with a title verified 7,235 miles since built. This open air E-ticket ride is one for show and go and the second most enjoyable way to get your hair messed up!
Exterior
If you want to turn some heads, pull up to the car show in a T bucket. If you want to attract a crowd, paint it Black Cherry and include some pinstriping and a pin-up girl. The insanely cool profile is amplified by the heavily staggered 15-inch Weld DragLite wheels and 31x16.5 inch tires in back. A tan canvas top connected to the upright windscreen and jutting dramatically upward to create headspace. The next thing you'll need to draw people like moths to a flame is chrome and polished parts, and it's here in spades with the exposed engine, headers, and radiator shell. The padded decklid is made of stitched tan vinyl to match the interior, as we'll learn and the bumperless tailgate wears teardrop tail lights enhanced with pinstriping which also appears on all panels and doors. Imperfections include a few small tears in the top, and a few scratches.
Posted up front is a 350ci V8 with FlowTek heads, new dual 4-barrel Holley carburetors over an Offenhauser tunnel ram intake. It's mated to a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission that routes power to the Ford 8” in back. Headers are the only exhaust method needed and the engine is replete with polished parts that create quite a spectacle.

40013 hauls 1Z62 16:35 Kingswear to Northampton 'English Riviera Express' charter past Saltern Cove on Saturday 7th June 2025. The 40 hauled the train throughout after the booked steam loco 34046 failed its fitness to run exam the previous day.
Late in the day, when the sun starts to descend, an apricot-pink plank of warmth applies itself to the covers and stretches itself to great lengths across the floor and out the door into the hall. But because of my expired film oddities, and desaturation, I once again have something which rather than feeling warm and cozy, appears to be a little spooky. Let’s just go with it: welcome to the haunted beach house. Sheesh.

14:52 Try again, fail again, fail better.
I recently bought a new variable ND filter. My first attempt to use it was a huge fail - extreme overexposure, extreme underexposure. This week I failed again, but I failed better. Set on aperture priority, I'm still underexposing and not getting the smoothing I'd like. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I'll keep playing and I'm sure with a few more fails, I'll figure it out. Life's like that. :)

It's true, this amazing little bird never fails to impress and a journey there isn't complete without a few shots of it.

The overnight sleeper failed at Carlisle, a door problem I saw reported. It decanted the unlucky passengers onto the platform, and proceeded to London later in the day. Scheduled to go via Wolverhampton, Stechford, Birmingham International it turned left at Stafford and made some time up on the fast line up the Trent valley. So much so that I only just made it in time.... Thanks to gen providers.

Poor Executive Ellen! On her lunch break, she thought it would be nice to relax on the new "Fun at the Beach" hammock and sip on her coffee but it didn't go as planned :-)
No minifigures were hurt while taking this photo :-) Executive Ellen landed on the nice, soft sand below her, although that sand doesn't look too soft to me :-)
I had the day off yesterday and decided I was going to take some great pictures. I got out my tripod, my lenses and even the manual for camera. I decided to try to see things in a new way. I looked indoors and outdoors. I looked for bright colors and for patterns. I zoomed in for macros and zoomed out for scenery. I took still life shots and action shots. I looked for funny shots and original shots. After hours and hours and hundreds and hundreds of pictures I didn't end up with a single picture I like. So, instead of showing you one failure I decided to show you 16!
BTW, there's a picture in here that shows Mack getting much closer to a black squirrel than I thought was possible.
Headed off to Seaham beach 5am this morning as it looked promising when I looked out of the bedroom window. Unfortunately, this is as much of an appearance old Sol gave me as she shot up behind the clouds.
On February 23rd, 2023 morning, most of the IT systems of Hungarian State Railways stopped working.
This caused problems for passenger information and train tracking systems, and also for almost all MÁV employees. Train drivers and conductors had to fill out (even more) A4 papers throughout the day instead of logging their work in the online systems.
After getting home from university this day, I headed out to the nearby farm to capture passenger train #2923 with this nicely blossoming tree. It was a thrilling experience waiting around without knowing when the train would arrive, but to my luck, it managed to show up before the sun disappeared behind the tree lines.
