DEATH OF JAMES COOLEY.
______
Another pioneer is gone, a man who has been a good and useful citizen in the community. James Cooley, who had resided in this vicinity for nearly forty years, died at his home at 919 Lincoln street, Neodesha, Thursday, July 9, 1914, at 9:30 a.m., of paralysis, aged 78 years, 3 months, and 2 days.
James Cooley was born reared and married to Miss Margaret Ann Jacobs near White House Station, New Jersey. After his marriage he moved to Illinois where he lived for a time and then came to Kansas, locating in Chase county. In the winter 1874-75 Mr. Cooley, and family moved to Wilson county, settling on a farm just west of Neodesha which he owned at his death. Eight years ago Mr. Cooley decided to retire from active farm life and move to town, buying the property which has since been his home on Lincoln street.
He leaves a wife and the following sons and daughters: Ambrose Cooley, Pendleton, Oregon; Ed. Cooley, McCloud, Okla.; A. R. Cooley, Neodesha; Mrs. Madge Linderman, Kansas City; Miss Lena Cooley, Neodesha; Milton Cooley, Burlington, Kansas. Three children died in infancy and two sons, Frank and Elisha, died after growing to manhood. He leaves a brother in Illinois and one in New Jersey.
James Cooley was a well known citizen, not only of Neodesha but of Wilson county. He had always taken an active part in politics and had been a delegate to many county, state and congressional conventions. He had been a life-long Republican, but in the last campaign followed Roosevelt into the third party. He like many others good Republicans, was a great admirer of Teddy. Mr. Cooley was an honest conscientious man and was honored by all who knew him. He would not intentionally do any man a wrong and his good deeds of the past, are many. As a husband and father the love and respect in which he was always held by his family shows him to have been all that the word implies. He was a veteran of the Civil war, serving in the Third New Jersey cavalry. He was also one of the oldest members of Humphrey Post No. 145, and always took an active and helpful part. The influence and life of James Cooley in this community has always been good and beneficial and in his death the community has sustained the loss of a man who will be greatly missed by those who had known him so long.
Funeral services were held at the home last Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, conducted by Rev. I. B. Pulliam of the Methodist church, members of Humphrey Post attending the funeral in a body. Interment was made in the Neodesha cemetery.
His Military Record From the Memorial Record of G. A. R. 145:
He enlisted on the 28th day of December 1863.
Served in the Army of the Potomac under Sheridan in the Shenandoah Valley in 1st Brigade, 3rd Division under Gen. Custer.
He was in the battles of Cedar Creek, Bridgwater in fack in all the fights in the Valley in 1864. He participated in the siege of Petersburg, at Five Forks, Dinwiddie and Appomattox. He was mustered out at Trenton New Jersey. He was honorably discharged August 1, 1865.
The hunny asked for the most random assortment of "fack" (fake) things on her Santa list this year... either she truly believes or she is playing a brilliant and elaborate trick on me, because this was a challenge to put together.
I'm putting all of the fack things into one box from Santa. Fack!
Lego Fanweekend Skaerbaek Denmark 2013
This is a WIP of my 16x16 Monster Truck (based on the 80's toy Mad Masher) Right now I didn't have the time to finish all te segments, so this is still a 12x12 chassis.
The front and back axle are steered by a PF M-motor, the other axles are connected to the next segment. When it moves to the side, the wheels will steer in that direction.
Still need to find the right steering angle for the wheels, because now it can only drive in big circles.
It will be fitted with a Truckcar and 2 fack V8 engines. Like the toy it will have a spoiler, although it drives slow.
I Hope to finish this for Lego World Utrecht, The Netherlands.
Not an AV model, but a Gravure idol who hit it off after doing a TV comercial for loan company.
Hawt! .... ok back to work

Like the Railton and Allard the Brough was a member of the Anglo-American club. Mating in this case American Hudson engines to a British built frame and coachwork. Built at the Brough motorcycle factory in Nottingham. After 1939 George Brough turned to precision engineering.
The Alpine Grand Sport was built on a shorter Hudson 6 chassis, with semi-ecliptic's up front, and hydraulic brakes. Power output measured 107bhp in standard form but with a Centric supercharger option a claimed 140bhp giving a potential 100mph. most cars were however dropheads

The former DB diesel locomotive 215 082-9 of the based in Wiehl Aggerbahn GmbH with a Facns gravel coach train of the railway assembly caused a great sensation in Wiehl-Bielstein on the Wiehltalbahn.
Very attractively placed in the middle of the village between supermarket and shopping area, the train caused plenty of furor among residents and passers-by.
Background of the unusual train rides on the tracks of the Wiehltalbahn: The production of the movie "Auerhaus". For this was in the past week, a more than 50-member film team in Bielstein pitched and shot on the track of the Wiehltalbahn in Bielstein. The well-known actors Max von der Groeben (known from "Fack ju Göhte") and Damian Hardung ("Club der roten Bänder"), two of the protagonists, are to be seen in a dramatic scene in which an Oberbergische diesel locomotive plays a central role.
Bielstein is one of many places in North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse, in which the Pantaleon Films GmbH in cooperation with Warner Brothers filmed until April the successful youth novel "Auerhaus" by Bov Bjerg. The book and the movie are all about four young people who are growing up in the province of the 80s and are starting a thriving residential community. One of the boys is tired of life - and wants to throw himself in front of a train.
