If you are a young adult or a family member of a young adult who is in crisis this hotline number is for you. I have below defined what I believe a Critical Crisis can be in a young adults life and hopefully you can reach out for encouragement during these times in you life.
Critical Crisis Definition:
A crisis is a turning point or decisive moment in events where you as a young adult or as a family member have met a crossroad. Typically, it is the moment from which an imminent critical trauma may go on to death or recovery. More loosely, it is a term meaning 'a testing time' or 'emergency event'. This crossroad is a crucial, decisive point or situation where a turning point, or an emotionally stressful event or traumatic change in a person's life will be taking place. A Critical situation you or a loved one is either in or verging on a state of crisis or emergency.
The Young Adult Crisis Hotline offers immediate emotional support by telephone volunteers trained to help young adults who may be having relational problems, addictions, have an eating disorder, are suicidal, in emotional distress, or in need of reassurance. Services are free, confidential, and anonymous. Professionally trained volunteers handle incoming calls using active, caring, and nonjudgmental listening and problem-solving skills. All calls are free, confidential and anonymous.
Young Adults in crisis... they're everywhere. Faced with physical and emotional abuse, drugs, peer pressure and the like, many today just don't have the resources or support to handle the pressure.
The marketing experts at Hallmark say that "15 million Americans now attend weekly support groups for chemical addictions and other problems. Another 100 million relatives are cheering on their addicted loved ones. This means that half of all Americans are either in recovery or helping someone who is."

Most of the time, we are just facing what we have personally chosen previously over and over again as a choice. You can't escape it...
You can't run away...
It is always there... Silent. Cold. Powerful.

In my Part 32 introduction to this house of worship, I mentioned that its exterior is set in Chicagoland's own great building-stone type, the Lemont-Joliet Dolostone (LJD), extracted in the Lower Des Plaines River Valley southwest of the Windy City. And I also noted that this particular consignment of stone came specifically from a Lemont quarry.
In all likelihood, the rock you see here was taken from the bottom of the unit Illinois geologists call the Sugar Run Formation. There the beds tend to be thinner and flaggier. It's also possible that it came instead from the uppermost, Romeo Member of the Joliet Formation situated just below the Sugar Run. Regardless of its exact stratigraphic assignment, this Silurian-period carbonate rock was deposited in a shallow subtropical sea, on the reef-studded fringe of the Michigan Basin, some 425 Ma ago.
The Lemont-Joliet Dolostone quarrying industry was in severe decline by the time this building was erected. The LJD had developed a reputation for spalling and shedding, which in fact wase often due to the improper masonry practice of face-bedding stone on exposed surfaces.
Worse yet, it was subjected to insurmountable competition from southern Indiana's Salem ("Bedford") Limestone, a highly workable and abundant selection that had become the darling of an architectural community not yet sufficiently acquainted with its own idiosyncrasies.
As a matter of fact, you can find the Salem here, in the window tracery, stringcourse, buttress flaps, and trim. It serves as an understated but more highly carvable complement to the LJD.

The Guards Memorial St James Park opposite Horse Guards Parade London sculptored by Gilbert Ledward 1888 - 1960 is made from Portland stone and is of a cenotaph like design. It was erected in 1926 dedicated to the five Foot Guards regiments of the 1914-1918 war. The bronze figures were cast from the guns taken from the Germans during the First World War.
The Guardsmen depicted were modelled on Sergeant R. Bradshaw, M.M., Grenadier Guards, Lance Corporal J. S. Richardson Coldstream Guards, Guardsman J. McDonald Scots Guards, Lance Sergeant W. J. Kidd, Irish Guards and Guardsman A. Comley, Welsh Guards. The memorial was unveiled on 16th October 1926 by the Duke of Connaught.
Above the five life sized soldiers and under a small cross carved into the cenotaph is the inscription:- To The Glory Of God and In memory of the Officers, Warrant Officers, Non Commissioned Officers and Guardsmen of His Majesty's Foot Guards who gave their Lives for the King and Country during The Great War 1914 - 1918 and of The Officers, Warrant Officers, Non Commissioned Officers and men of The Household Cavalry, Royal Regiment Of Artillery, Corps Of Royal Engineers, Royal Army Service Corps, Royal Army Medical Corps and other Units who while serving with The Guards Division in France and Belgium 1915 - 1918 fell with them In the fight for the world freedom
