While on a neighbourhood walk yesterday, this lovely Monarch decided to land fairly close to me, facing the morning light.

The Roman Forum's Temple of Venus and Roma, once Rome's largest temple, was designed by Emperor Hadrian himself and formally dedicated to the goddesses Venus Felix (the bringer of good fortune, representing amor {love}) and Roma Aeterna (Eternal Rome) in 135 A.D.
The temple once contained two connecting chambers, each of which represented one of the two divinities. Statues of both goddesses, Venus and Roma, were seated back-to-back on thrones where the chambers adjoined, each facing into her own chamber. (This placement was very deliberate, of course, since 'amor' is 'roma' spelled backwards.)
Not only did we arrive Great Sand Dunes National Park a bit late and lost most of the golden light on the dunes, I believe we also came at the wrong time of day.
Judging by the dunes' orientation (facing east) and the trek marks left by the day activities (hiking, sandboarding, sand sledding), early morning hours would be a much better time for photography in here!
Nevertheless, I'm happy with the few images that I got, for they are much better than the ones I took from the first visit (early afternoon, Sep 2019)! 😉

As the wood meets the meadow and the morning sun does its best to burn away the morning mist a blanket of soft but strong light shines across the meadow lighting up the edge of the wood. It was this light that has allowed me to get so many great images from this part of The Hangings at Whiteleaf, Buckinghamshire and something I hope I will be rewarded with again.
