Melting Point stocked Fort York's two south-facing cannons with an artillery of glowing good feelings at Nuit Blanche, October, 2014, pouring forth continuously sparkling tributaries of light from the mouths of the old weapons. Accompanied by the immersive sounds of rolling waves and trilling harps, the work laid a defense against the swirling market forces beyond, countering hard with soft and dark with light.
LeuWebb Projects is a collaborative venue for creative explorations. With a mandate to cross disciplines and media, artist/architects Christine Leu and Alan Webb seek to engage people with both the tangible and ephemeral through sound, light and space. Jeff Lee is a molecular biologist and electronic musician who designs and builds esoteric electronic devices. Omar Khan used to make software used by millions of people but now makes objects that emotionally connect people to their physical and digital surroundings.

“Chicken of the Tree” is the local nickname for these ubiquitous creatures of the Costa Rican tropical forest.
The locals also say that they raid the nests of the green parrots that seem just as abundant in the trees. So I guess the iguanas are ovo-vegetarian.

This is a photograph from the 3rd round of the 2017 Pat Finnerty Memorial 5KM Road League which was held in Belvedere House and Gardens, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 17th May 2017 at 20:00. The Road League is promoted and organised by Mulligar Harriers Athletic Club and sponsored by local sponsors including O'Brien's Renault dealership. This is a very well established as an annual event which takes place on every Wednesday night in the month of May. Following on from the great weather from last week's race this evening's racing seen a more changeable evening. There were some heavy showers earlier in the dead and the sky showed the possibility of rain. There was a strong headwind facing the runners in the first kilometer of the race. As this was the third out of four races in the league there were slightly less participants tonight. Just under 200 participants took part in the race which runs a traffic free course over a mix of road and hilly forest trail.

The explaination is very simple.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. Another chilly (18F) photo-walk in downtown Chicago. It was a bit windy, too, so fingers weren't as cooperative as I wished due to low wind chill. But I loved it because there were far fewer pedestrians. Here is a shot from tonight, facing Wacker on Lake. #WinterBringIt
This remains of this building are in Hillington, in the middle of a farmer's field, approximately 400 yards south of the main entrance to Arkleston Cemetery.
The picture is facing north west towards the Old Kilpatrick Hills, and the twin towers of Renfrew Old Parish Church and Renfrew Town Hall are just visible in the gap dead centre. I remember playing in this derelict building about 40 years ago when I was a child. You could walk across from Renfrew after Renfrew Airport was closed but before the M8 had opened. It was dilapidated then too. What was this building? Was it something to do with the airport or was it an old farmhouse?

This was an early photo from a darn fun shoot.
We have been having a little early summer heat wave, which has been pulling up a lot of moist air from down south.
The result has been actual high clouds in Southern California. Lots of fun except for the humidity, which I don't like.
Boo Hoo Hoo.
The sky was looking fun, but it was a few hours to sunset. Went to a yoga class and got all stretchy. When I got out the sky still looked good, so I got into the car and drove to the beach.
This was a shot earlier in the sunset, with the golden stuff just starting. It turned out a lot better than I expected, still I decided to move on to another perspective.
Tech crap. Taken with a three stop ND Grad. And a great tripod/ball joint.
My advice is.
Take Thom Hogan's advice and spend about 1000$ on the combo. The setup I have is about 700$ and I am still (two years later) really happy with it.

THIS etching represents, in profiles facing each other, two half-length figures . of the Duke of Newcastle and Mr. H. Fox, afterwards Lord Holland. On the Duke's riband are three fleurs-de-lis, indicating his alleged subserviency to France ; on the breast of Fox a similar symbol appears, for the same purpose ; Fox has a fox's head, as usual ; the Duke is looking at him through a large magnifying glass ; this was his custom, see other portraits, eg., " Poor Robin's Prophecy", No. 3383; "The Advocate", No. 3527; "Punch's Opera", No. 3394. Behind each figure is a gallows, with " THE PILLARS OF THE STATE" written on the upper limbs. Chains suspended from the gallows support an inverted English ship, on the keel of which the French Cock is ostentatiously crowing ; on the ship is a label, probably referring to the anticipated fate of each minister, — " GALLUS-SO NEAH."
Below the design is the following inscription:—
" Brother Brother, we are both in the Wrong.
Vide Gay's Peachum & Lockit."

This engraving is No. 1 in a volume of satires, entitled "A Political and Satyrical History of the Years 1756 and 1757", &c.
In the " Explanation " prefixed to the engravings is the following letterpress, referrmg to this design :—
"Plate I. The Deserts of these Caricaturas are by the Satyrist fixed over the Heads of each, as partly by the Craft of one, and the Blunders of the other, our Marine at that time was turned topsi-turvy, while the Gallich Clock crowed triumphant. But a succeeding Patriot' has since weighed the foundered Bark to his own Glory, and the Satisfaction of the People."
