R.I.P. Duchess. She was the best dog a person could hope for, and yesterday we had to have her put down because she had been in pain for too long. Very sad and missing her, but happy to have had her to love for a wonderful 11 years.

The people living in and around Tashiding forest in Sikkim have a livelihood closely tied to the natural resources of their surroundings. They collect firewood, timber, medicinal herbs, and wild edibles from the forest, either for personal use or to sell in nearby markets. Agriculture is also central to their sustenance, with crops like maize, millet, and cardamom grown on terraced hillsides, while livestock rearing provides dairy, wool, and meat. Handicrafts, especially traditional basket weaving using bamboo, are a part of their cultural heritage and an additional source of income. Many locals also engage in tourism by offering homestays, guiding treks, or selling handmade goods to visitors...

Woodman shows his Facial Expression

But without any Aggression

Wood is not a dead Material

That would be too trivial

This face is alive

But how long will it survive ?

Or is it just a Fantasy overdrive ?

It is full of Life, Let's face it

Not sure whether it's nice, I must admit

Beauty lies in the eyes of the Beholder

And taste might change

As we are getting older ....

Dolma, a young Tibetan woman on her way to the watering hole. It was a cold, wet winter's morning and there were always snow flurries. Her village consisted only of mud huts and stables. She was very shy but proud to be photographed.

From time to time I go through my archive and I have found some nice pictures from my travels and adventures in Tibet and China, which I don't want to withhold from my followers who have remained loyal to me because of my black and white photos.

Gregos is a French street artist (b: Gregory Bouctot-Charneau 1972) who started to display his face with varying emotive expressions on the walls of Paris in 2006.

Initially the plaster masks were blank, but in 2009 he began to add painted designs.

The artist has installed hundreds of faces in the streets of Paris and other cities around the world.

I saw that this street art concept was successful at inspiring interaction between the faces and passers by. They seem to provoke mixed reactions from the public, from humour and intrigue to fear and complaint.

And the concierge at our hotel told us that the masks have inspired a scavenger hunt situation in the city, with people specifically searching them out.

If memory serves, this particular one is in the district of Montmartre.

Outdoor Holi Portrait of a Norwegian lady taken during Holi Festival celebration in Bengaluru.

An old Lama in Salé, Kyirong valley. Kyirong is the valley where the explorer Heinrich Harrer and his friend Peter Aufschnaiter lived almost for one year more than sixty years ago. (Seven Years in Tibet). The Lama invites me into his simple prayer hall and entertained me for yak butter tea and yang (a Tibetan beer). When I was going I presented him a picture of the Dalai Lama. He took the photograph and looked a very long time on it. Then he had tears in his eyes.

I made this photograph with a Hasselblad 205TCC, Zeiss Planar 2,0/110mm, scanned with Nikon Supercoolscan 8000.

A performer at FITS 2022, Theatre Festival.

I met a clear beach of water and light.

I climbed on the rocks so much beauty thrilled

We decided to take this spectacular view from an overview

The greatest moment to fuse waves and light

Among them looked stifling.

The spectacle is not the same for a moment

Sometimes I change my look and I repeat my smile

It is engraved in my mind and it echoes.

I'm going back to my thoughts and calm judgment

Staring at this spectacle, overjoyed space-time

In harmony with the natural world, and the spectacle .

Portrait Sambalpuri Tribal Dancer taken at Odisha Parab 25 in Bengaluru.

She is the warrior of civilizations

The true performer of a monochromatic drama called Life.

The legends against all the all odds.

I am just a lonesome cowboy

And I'm travelling all alone

I ain't even got a nickel

To call my baby on the phone

Just beyond the mountain lies a city

And I hear it calling me

Saddle up and ride you lonesome cowboy

Here is where you'll find your destiny

In my dreams the lights shine bright and pretty

Near to me and yet so far

Will I always be a lonesome cowboy

Am I only reaching for a star
