As many of you know, red squirrels are my favorite outdoor critters. This little guy was busy at the feeding station, eating all the sunflower seeds in sight.....taken at Fort Whyte Alive.

Notice the fly that got into the picture to the left! :D

A long billed Corella bird with a surprised facial expression captured at the Kings Domain , Melbourne. It's head was down digging for bulbs and when it raised its head...I am much nearer !

Best view enlarged for details of the face.

Happy Sunday

Kitty gets mad when she’s hungry!!

Another evening leopard sighting in Masai Mara National Park, Kenya.

It looks a bit annoyed probably because of the number of jeeps present. I am sure with the Covid restrictions...the animals are enjoying some peace and quiet.

Hand-carved, hand-painted fishermen, each with his own personality and intriguing expression, a promise of story, a cast of characters. For Crazy Tuesday 4/12/2022, "Made Of Wood." -- April 12, 2022

😄 HaPpY CrAzY Tuesday 😄

This was a summer day in Srinagar, where I saw this old Muslim man probably holding his grandchild in his lap, sitting outside the Hazratbal Shrine of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. His son sitting next to him waiting for the bus to arrive to take them to their destination. They look tired, but the old man has a slight smile while looking at the child.

India is home to 100 million elderly people today. Their numbers are likely to increase threefold in the next three decades. Many elderly people in India are not aware of their human rights due to high occurrence of illiteracy & lack of awareness and this contributes to the infringement of those rights. Life is sad, life is tough, life is a burden, life is lonesome, but in the end, life is to live!

Exodus is about the here and the now. Or about refugees and ourselves. About those who’ve had to leave their Homes and about us, the people who try to be their Home for a while.

At the same time, Exodus is about Artists and Refugees. About what Artists feel when faced with the collective drama of a people, whether it’s the Ukrainian, the Syrian people or… unfortunately, this never seems to end…

Exodus is about Empathy, Friendship, Solidarity, Emotion.

Exodus is about Tears and Smiles.

Exodus is our firm answer, as Artists, to the madness of the leaders of the World.”

My first Hibiscus Flower of this Season.

In it's center it clearly shows a face with quite an expression :-)

The second face is a profile portrait in the left lower petal :-)

The last band playing at the Icelandic Festival were The Noble Thiefs. This local Winnipeg group finished the night with some great music.

What wasn't great?.....trying to get a hand-held shot of 3 guys moving constantly under bright purple spot lights. However, notice the microphone (a stationary object) is in very clear focus. :D

The facial expressions of owls are defined by their facial discs, their immobile but expressive eyes, their eyelid movements, and the tufts (ear-like feathers) in the case of owls.

These features give the impression of complex emotions, although they are often the result of functional adaptations… and the photographer’s imagination does the rest 🤔

Green Heron

Butorides virescens

Size: 16 – 18 inches tall, wingspan 25 – 27 inches

The diminutive green heron is a master of camouflage, easily disappearing into the plants at the water’s edge. At rest, they hide their long heron neck by drawing it into their body. It’s only when they’re actively hunting that you’ll see the neck fully stretched out and realize it’s definitely a member of the heron family. Green herons are found in wetlands throughout the eastern part of the country, and along the western coast.
