It wasn't really a flight, more a jump from a nearby rock.
Another for the White-faced Heron Appreciation Society.
This past summer, I was just about to step off of the boardwalk when I noticed this dragonfly resting in the morning sun.

On a cloudy spring day, with its soft, diffused light and almost no shadows, this Curlew Sandpiper (Calidris ferruginea) posed for me in its breeding plumage
Early last fall I captured this image of the Bald Faced Hornet on our back deck. When I read up on him, it said he is actually a member of the Yellow Jacket wasps and not a true hornet. Either way, I was not happy to have him visit. I react quite strongly to bee and wasp stings so I always carry a small container of white vinegar with me to apply to a sting quickly to neutralize the effects. It works within minutes if I apply it right after the sting. The other reason we don’t like the wasps hanging around is because they strip pieces of wood off the posts. I thought initially when I discovered this, that a neighbourhood cat was scratching at our deck. I guess the wasps find it easy material for making their paper nests. This is my Wing Wednesday post for the day.

Two-Face was one of the easier characters to build for, in large part because of his simplistic suit design and large (comparatively) stature. That said however, his face was one of the most challenging aspects as it required me to build two halves of one head that spanned the width of 3 (and not 4) studs, while still being stable. Although not perfectly divided, I used a printed leg (Azog) and Ninjago stickers (among others) to help bridge the gap and even out the burns.
My Two-Face takes inspiration from Batman: The Animated Series and Batman: Arkham City. His base is one of the collection's largest and it depicts an imploded courthouse.

This Yellow-faced Grassquit (Tiaris olivaceus) perched in tall grass near San Pablo de Borbur, in Boyacá, Colombia, its yellow face markings bright against an olive body. It is the only member of its genus, and it feeds mainly on grass seeds, along with other seeds, berries and some insects. It breeds from central Mexico to northern Ecuador and northwestern Venezuela, as well as on the Greater Antilles, and its song is a series of high, thin, rapid trills.
I photographed it with a Canon R5 and the RF 800mm f/11 plus the RF 1.4x extender, at 1/125 sec, f/16, ISO 1600, −0.5 EV. Near town, the Fura and Tena hills are promoted for hiking and birdwatching, and a local association runs ecological tourism there built around their ancestral legend.

Partial face for this weeks challange....I'd like to see the whole face, as a full time nurse we are still masked , and I am tired of not seeing my patients mouth smiles . This is our youngest son Jack graduation June 202 0, a very unusual graduation, as it was held at the fair grounds , parents were in cars, not allowed go more then 1 foot from their car , the graduates walked through the cars to the grandstand and sat 8 feet apart from one another. Once they received their diploma they went to their parents car , as they did not want the kids to toss their caps or hug each other. A nice surprise was a full fire work display , as the last kid graduated.
