Romeo has so many adoring friends not only on his social media Facebook page, but from all over the cities of Seattle, Tacoma and beyond. At some of the seafood stands inside the Pike Place Market, he’d be hand-served like royalty fresh delicious Alaskan wild caught salmon. Over the years at many of the local restaurants we patronised, servers and chefs carefully prepared salmon or poultry dishes made especially just for him. They’d cater to him with the hope of earning his approval of their fine cuisine crafted selection while he was properly seated at the table. The sales associates at several of the Nordstrom’s stores loved to fawn over Romeo. At REI’s flagship store, the colossal gas fireplace would be lit for him if it wasn’t blasting it’s warmth while the associates fraternised with him on break. He made friends everywhere who loved to pamper him.
My anticipatory grief is so raw. I have spent every day with him at the ER hospital this past week. Yesterday we laid on blankets on the floor for almost an hour. Time now has no meaning when it’s running out. I lost myself in him wholly when he nuzzled is body tight against mine as I poured out my heart. The unconditional and unbreakable bond we have with one another is uniquely rich as it is intense that death will not be able to break. It will be difficult when that love transitions from a physical to a spiritual form. My hope is that I’ll find a path towards celebrating his life where I can honour him by sharing our stories; I don’t ever want to forget him. This is also terrifying for me because grief is an emotion difficult to share as well as navigate. Why do we have to experience loss and grief as a solitude endeavour? We share our grief to connect with one another, yet I’ve observed how we feel alone in our journey.

Another shot with Kyle Thompson.
I think I'm going to a ghost town tomorrow, that should be exciting!

AND this is another amazing picture he took of me!
Shot yesterday, in a live class of my portrait workshop here in Buenos Aires. At the Simik bar/photographic museum. Everything that shines behind is metal and glass from all cameras.

We spent a weekend in the Carrizo Plain in central California to witness the superbloom. We took the scenic Highway 1 along the California cost on the way back home. There is a secluded place called Calla Lily Valley. Wild lilies bloom mid March to beginning of April, it was good timing for us.
I processed a balanced and a paintery HDR photo from two RAW exposures, merged them selectively, and carefully adjusted color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive feedback.

We went to Marshall's Beach near the Golden Gate bridge, San Francisco. A woman in a red dress and a men were walking out on the sandy beach and back at low tide.

'Klangwolke' (Cloud of Sound) is an event at the planetarium of Hamburg. The artists Alexander Raytchev and Cord Brandis enchant the city park with evocative summer night dreams of piano and electronic sounds! Simultaneously the Planetarium shines in changing colors. A feast for the senses.
A photo of the planetarium will follow soon.

We featured Ziggy (the cat inside the cage) on our Facebook page today and I included this picture of Alexander Hamilton in the comments. My mom suggested I might share this photo other places e.g. Flickr.
I didn't mention this in Ziggy's write-up but he is a bit of a beast when he comes to board. He weighs about 18 pounds and has urinary issues and so we keep him in this large cage when he stays with us. He's on three medications that he gets twice a day and it takes three technicians to medicate him. He lunges, hisses and growls and tries to scratch and bite us. But for some reason, he and Alexander Hamilton have become buddies. At one point, I left Ziggy's cage door open so he could get out and walk around and stretch his legs and he and Alexander Hamilton went nose to nose and then both just plopped down on the ground about a foot apart and slow blinked at each other.
Anway, no need to comment - I just thought you might get a kick out of Alexander Hamilton hanging out with Ziggy.

"The New Year Celebration"
I hope that it's not too late to share this shot of the 2015 NYE fireworks at Space Needle, and I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
I can hardly recall what it feels like to see fireworks, not that I've been to less but because I've always tried so hard to get the best shot with my camera while forgetting to experience it as if I was there. I'm sure that this is a common photographer's dilemma that felt the same.
Knowing the different objective, I made sure that this experience would be personal this time. I took a few minutes to setup the camera the tripod and simply let it did its job I could just be one of those happy viewers together with my friends.
The fireworks went on a little shorter than expected which only lasted roughly 7 minutes, but I have nothing to complain given that it was on a clear day with minimal wind. If you look carefully, Mount Rainier is vaguely visible just behind Space Needle which is quite rare in Seattle. I think the fireworks may also have contributed to lighten it up :P
On Sunday I joined a couple for a mushroom hunt at the Salt Point State Park at the coast of northern California. My primary objective was photography, but I was also rewarded with tasty mushrooms. I brought home delicious Matsutake, Chanterelle, Black Trumpet, and Porcupine mushrooms. This is not an edible one.
I processed a balanced, a photographic, and a paintery HDR photo from two RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Having gone on a camping trip to the Coromandel Peninsula I set the alarm to wake me up at 3am (which is when the moon finally went below the horizon and gave me some clean skies) and walked down to the beach to take some star shots.
I had this set of 12 I took and up until now I had completely forgotten to stitch and edit them, not sure how I missed them but they stitched well and I'm quite pleased with the end result!
Each shot is shot at:
f/3.2
25s
14mm
3200 ISO
Stitched in Microsoft ICE, edited in LR.
I've also just created a Facebook page so if anyone wants to be the first to like it then be my guest!

We stayed at a historic hotel in Moss Landing on the Pacific Ocean. Nearby we discovered a nice restaurant where we had a Cuban dinner. The restaurant is open "11 AM till closing" - the waitress told us they close when there are no longer guests. In attitude I can live with.
I took a photo with a 12mm ultra-wide fisheye lens, processed a balanced, a photographic and a paintery HDR photo from a RAW exposure, merged them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves.
