The access road to Hakone Gardens currently has beautiful cherry trees in bloom. This Japanese garden is located in Saratoga, California.
As for composition, I tried to get the dark road leading into infinity, highlighted by the bright cherry trees and road marking. Two curved curves makes the scene dynamic, one starting in the lower left corner, one to the mid right.
I processed a paintery and a balanced HDR photo from a RAW exposure, merged them selectively, carefully adjusted the curves, darkened the road a bit, and desaturated the result.

On August 20 we drove 10+ hours north-east to Weiser, Idaho to see the totality of the solar eclipse the next day. What an experience!
We scouted around for a good place and decided to camp at the river bed of the Snake River a few miles downstream from Weiser. We could see the moon slip in front of the sun at 10:10am. The surrounding terrain became an eerie place ten minutes before the totality. The temperature dropped. Then at 11:25am it got dark within seconds, quite dark. The totality had begun. Now it was safe to look into the sun without a protective film, and to take off the sun filter from the camera lens. I was super exited, and at the same time very much focused on taking many shots with the new 600 mm long lens. I used the lens on my crop sensor camera, thus got 900 mm out of the lens.
The sun is 400 times further away than the moon, and by pure luck the moon is 400 times smaller than the sun. Which, at totality means that the two object appear to have the same size. Actually, the moon is 2.7% larger, which allowed us to enjoy the totality for 2 minutes. It also means that the corona around the sun was clearly visible.
These are three exposures merged into one photo. The bottom left one was the beginning, followed by the totality in the middle, then the moon moving away on the top right.
The totality is a mystical experience, hard to describe. All I can say is that I recommend to put this on your bucket list if you have not experienced one in person. Totally worth a trip.
I processed balanced HDR photos separately from three RAW exposures, positioned and merged them to fit the path of the sun, and slightly adjusted the curves.

Update 2017-09-02: There was some burn in the totality part. I re-uploaded an improved version.

Also my Facebook Page.
Shall be posting an Image a day for the next year, 365 (or 366 if it is a Leap year...not checked!!).
The Format will be different...some images have been shown before, some are new...... At the moment I am now starting a "New" Project.....Well it is "New" for me, although it has been done before by many, many People too!!!.
I will follow the direction I have chosen but there is plenty of room for me to chop and change at a later date...I guess it depends how I feel about it at a later date.
This Project will now give me the time to work with other ideas I am playing with. There will still be months in which I post other pics too from themes I have worked with in the past......I have just made a little more time and space available to me.
So hope you like the changes.......

People fear death even more than pain.
It's strange that they fear death. Life hurts a lot more than death.
At the point of death, the pain is over.

'Perhaps the only difference between me and other people is that I've always demanded more from the sunset. More spectacular colors when the sun hit the horizon. That's perhaps my only sin.'
I'm a little upset because someone reported my nude photos as 'Abuse' because I forgot to mark them as moderated, so now my whole account appears as 'Moderated'. It's unfair, and Flickr Staff it's taking more time than usual to put my account back to normal.
Anyway, as they say, the show must go on...

##
“After the storm always comes the calmness comes” She repeated herself as she was softly closing her eyes and letting a fresh wind stream hit her on her face. Her mind was in complete sincrony with nature, she could feel the last water drops of that thin rain falling on her cheecks, she could breath pure air and finally feel free. She inhaled deeply and camed to the conclusion that as in the calm is the peace, the experience is also part of the storm. And after all, she thought, that’s what life is about. To enjoy the journey in every step, to make every moment worth. Learning to live with the good stuff and the bad too, the moments of happiness and sadness, to give sense to the problems and to the solutions too. Anyway, how would she really know what that state of fullness meant without witness all the opposite?
(Thank you all very much for all the comments and the mails you send me, really, thanks a lot, I'll be replying everything as soon as I can)
