Farruca is a spanish dance usually danced by a male dancer (bailaor). Having saying that I've seen a group of female dancers dancing Farruca in Finland.
Farruca on espanjalainen tanssi jonka yleensä esittää miestanssija. Olen kuitenkin nähnyt naistanssijaryhmän esittävän Farrucaa Suomessa. Se oli muistaakseni Sysmän torilla kesällä 2007. Siellä oli kirjapäivä ja myös espanjalainen kulttuuri esillä.
Graffiti on Toronto’s streets was flourishing in the mid-1990s. Heavily influenced by the scene in New York City in the 1970s, graffiti artists talked about their inspirations and their battle with the idiots of graffiti: the tagger.

In 1994 a huge schism had grown in Canada between youth and the wider media. Young people were not reflected anywhere and their views were ignored. That is, until Watch Magazine exploded onto the streets of Toronto and into the halls of the city’s high schools. I was hired by Youth Culture to be the Editor-in-Chief for this unique business: a magazine staffed by high school students but covering the wider worlds of pop music, culture, fashion, politics and the arts.

This painting was about mark making restraint. I would make a mark think about that mark to the point that I was scared to make another. I continued that process until cowardice over took me and I stopped.
These polaroids remind me a bit of Mark Rothko's work. Although I admire him immensely, these shots were actually supposed to turn out looking a lot more like daffodils than Rothko's "multiforms." Sadly, my recently acquired SX-70 (because, let's face it, I have a Polaroid addiction) may be destined for decorative use only, as it seems hell-bent on ejecting several sheets of film (and these only partway!) each time the shutter release button is pressed. Could be a bad pack of film, but I'm reluctant to find out by wasting another pack when the damn stuff is discontinued.
